Now that would be an upgrade. If you were to go 5167R, I would recommend it. But my biggest gripe was going from PM to SS plus the additional cash on top.

Have you considered the 5168G? At least this would be a PM for a PM trade. I'm sorta in the same boat considering trading 2-3 of my collection (including a yg daytona) for a 5168G blue. I posted a thread and got 75% against and 25% for the trade. I was able to try one on recently at my AD and love the slim fit of the PP but having a hard time justifying paying $30k over MSRP

Good point, I’d add either color 5168G into consideration along with the 5167R.

Regarding your situation, if you bought your pieces at msrp and are selling at market to buy the Aquanaut at market price, then it’s not a bad deal.

I did the opposite and haven’t looked back. Don’t forget the strap on the 5167 has zero adjustment. Drove me nuts.

Keep the Daytona, 5167 is an entry level PP, it will make this trade looks dumb when the sport watch hype is gone

They couldn't give away aquanauts just 5 years ago. How times have changed.

I wouldn't trade for this.

Travel time maybe. I don't discount the 5167a, I think it's a lovely weekend watch, but at its retail price, not current market price. It's incredibly hyped as we all know. Which is a real shame because Patek have some insane complicated watches that dont get a look in.

I wouldn’t trade a beautiful WG Daytona for an entry level non complicated sport Patek

Personally much prefer the Aquanaut, but the premium is tough to swallow.

Where are you seeing grey prices increase on the 5167a?

I owned the 5167a and loved it but have now upgraded to the 5164a which is my preference of the two.

I don't think your experience wearing an Aquanaut will be improved so much to justify the cost of trading for it.

Keep the Daytona.

I’d keep your ghost … one of the best chronographs on the market, white gold, heft, and pretty protected against the world with pushers and crown, cerachrome bezel and OF bracelet.

What’s not to like?

What makes you desire an entry level PP? It will cost you more to acquire and to service more frequently at a much higher price per service. It’s not as durable nor protected.

I would not trade the 116519 towards the 5164.

Patek per se is another class, not punch in the face, under the radar, classy but sporty.

If you like it go for it
