What would be the fair price to trade a brand new Batman '23 for a Sprite '23, both b

I called and asked dealers; most of them said it would be 4k-5k more for the Sprite. Does that seem legit?

Well depends if you prefer comic book characters or fizzy drinks but would not pay silly money for these items.

Buy what you like, but I find those lefty Sprites to be odd looking and wouldn't pay that premium personally. I also imho think there's a chance they bring out a right-hand Sprite at some point. Good luck. Cheers!

I would not make that trade. Like BLNR a lot better.

You do realize secondhand prices are dropping weekly right? At the current rate I’d say that 4-5k would be 2-3k in a couple months. Also it’s only like a 1k difference in retail price between them. I’ve talked to grey dealers that have so many VTNRs and they aren’t buying anymore. I’d talk to my AD about doing this trade before blowing a few grand

Legitimate is up to you, they’re going to make their $$$ on both ends, even if you can finesse the numbers a bit. If you want the lefty more than the BLNR, then happiness is important in figuring out if the #’s are legitimate enough.
Just the way it is unfortunately if negotiating a trade. I personally wouldn’t make that trade.

I prefer the BLNR to the Left Hand GMT. Prices have settled on the Sprite and will continue to do so as more and more move into the market. I would keep what you have. By the time you pay 4k more in the trade and lose 4k more in a future sale/trade of the sprite you are talking about a decent amount of money.

I prefer the Batman, but if you’d rather have the Sprite, that’s too much money on top. I’d offer less.

Richard is spot on. Retailers expect a profit on both watches. You are better off trying to sell your Batman and then negotiating a price on the Sprite if you want the delta to be as small as possible. Think about it this way. If you traded a Batman for a Batman the retailer would want you to add cash. When we say market price for a watch that is what we pay, not what we can expect to sell to a retailer. The last time I looked at Bob’s watches don’t they have side by side price for you to buy from them and for you to sell to them. The advice to wait won’t help you with the delta…your purchase price will decrease but so will the value of your trade. If price drops enough, the grey may not be interested in your Batman anymore if they have Batman inventory they think they won’t be able to move.

Down the road, I think once the newness wears off the VTNR, there is a chance the BLNR is going to be worth more. So, if this does come to pass, are you going to be okay with the deal as proposed?

Either way, you have your answer.

If conditions were normal, ie. one could buy any watch directly from AD at MSRP, the VTNR would be at the very bottom of the stack - even below the green subs. It is the least hype-worthy of all the SS hype models.

You cannot expect a 1:1 trade with a retailer but in my mind the VTNR is worth less than the BLNR, not more.

Larry my man, you sure? I doubt the green lefty is around for 7-10 years as normal. This will be way more limited. Think about all the batpeople out there.

That’s too much but what you are going to pay to trade to a grey. Remember they buy at wholesale always. And always sell at retail. So you will not get the retail to retail price. You will get wholesale to retail. Stinks but how it’s works.

Problem with the “sprite” is the colours. Now red and blue makes sense. Red and blac? Yeah ok. Green and black?! When was the sky green? It’s odd.

No I'm not sure. I'm just SWAG-ing it here.

Good to hear from you, brother.
