First post! 126610LN or 126610LV

I'm going to be purchasing one of the two, which will be my first rolex purchase. Currently the only watch I have is the tudor black bay eta (79220) in black. I know both watches are pretty similar but I am a fan of dive watches.

Curious on opinions of getting the LN vs the LV (mkii)

Thanks!

I'd grab the LV. LN in no date.

I think I would go LV if you have the Black Bay in black already.

The black is probably more Verdi tule and classic but IMO the green is just a cool one.

Subs look good in green for some reason. Maybe it’s just brainwashing over the years. I think the lefty gmt green looks bad though. LV is what I went with after turning down all other variants. I’m happy that I waited.

I'm a stickler for the classics - LN all the way for me.

I can live with a cyclop on dj or dd, but not on sub. So if LN it has to be 124060 for me.
LV is another story because of the funky color, date window is fine.

until recently, the number of LV delivered vs LN were 1 to 8, they were not in demand until 2017 when the Hype exploded the demands, in other words that apart from going through the grey market, the waiting times are long (in Paris the orders of 2020 are not yet all delivered). It's a matter of taste, the black one is timeless, the green one is a little more visible but will never replace the exceptional Hulk 116610LV among the 16610LV and 126610LV

If these watches sold at MRSP (or less) and were widely available the black Sub would crush the LV in sales, 100:1. How do I know? This is how it used to be back in 2016.

The green watches are only popular due to the hype and general perceived scarcity. Under steady state conditions the green would be rather unpopular. Thus I'd get the traditional black sub without a doubt. It looks better.

(Plus I don't have any green shirts, shoes, pants or hats.... nor a green car)

Agree. And imagine the hype if the LN is one that is produced in smaller numbers…

First, to consider the LV, you have to like green AND not be concerned about if it matches what you are wearing etc (I don;t when I wear either the 16610LV or 126610LV). Then there is the "what sings to you" feeling. If you're thinking the LV will be more for special occasions, then I suggest the LN. Both the LN & LV can be daily watches (but again you need to like green for it to be a daily for you). If in doubt, go LN (and then you can look down the road for the LV is that fire still burns).

The real question is if the Tudor sticks around after you get your sub.

LV all day. I’ve had both and you will tire of seeing so many subs just like your black one. Green is just the right amount of pop and goes with everything.

I own an LV, so I hate to agree with this, but it's true. However, given the LN sub is ubiquitous, I say go LV!

LN if one watch or 2. In a collection then the LV. LV is more unique and different but only if you already have a black watch. In my collection I have the WG and LV sub but it is because I have the SD 43 and the JC DSSD. Before I became a collector, my everyday watch for over 25 years was a 1680 sub I bought when I was 16.

I like green and don’t want the same watch that everyone has. The sub is basically the same as it was when it was introduced in 1953. There are a *ton* of black subs out in the world.

So if both of these things describe you get the LV. but if you want the “classic” sub or a more understated watch or don’t like green get the LN

This is the best reply I’ve read on any post as of late. Absolutely 100% in agreement.
