My VC Fifty-Six impression

Hello fellow watch enthusiasts,
I want to share my impressions of the 3 hand Fifty-six in pink gold. I own it for 9 months and I am still excited to wear it. It’s a 40 mm size and 9.6 mm thick watch. I have a 17 cm wrist and it fits well for a formal attire.
I find the finishing superb and the pink gold has a very warm hue. The silver sector dial works well with the batons and the elegant Arabic numbers. I also like the much scrutinized date aperture location on the inner track. My favorite part of the design is the chamfered transition from the bezel to the side of the case and then onto the lugs. The triangular projections, the only features similar to the original model from the year 1956, give a sportier look. The brown leather strap with the Maltese cross buckle is the perfect choice for the pink gold case.
The caseback is very attractive with Côtes de Genève decoration. The oscillating weight is very artistically done with the Maltese cross and allowing to see through to the calibre. Many “connaisseurs” find that the use of a Val Fleurier calibre and the machine finishing are unacceptable. Well, I am not a watch technician or a watchmaker so I don’t use loops. In my eyes, it’s a well finished movement made with high standards. Here are some pics.

Have a great weekend and happy holidays!

Congrats on a beautiful watch. It is interesting to hear your thoughts on the movement as it is still incredibly well finished but just lacking the Geneva seal. I am undecided at this point if this would bother me but am probably leaning away from the 3 handers for this reason. Wear it in great health.

Thank you all for your kind words. You can't go wrong with a day-date or a complete calendar. Let us know what you decide.

Happy holidays!

Glad to see so many Fiftysix supporters. This watches surprised me when I saw it in person. The case shape is a lot more complex than the marketing pictures. Also the dial has a lot of details. I’ve owned this for over a year and have been enjoying it.

Thanks for sharing your impressions! Its a very handsome watch, and a great addition to your collection. I love the case, lugs and size. It's such a versatile design that one can wear it easily with a suit or with more casual clothing too. Enjoy it my friend!

I have the same Petrol Blue dial and absolutely love it. Ultimate Sporty Dress watch. …Now I want silver dial version.
