Rolex GMT 1675 1960 - seeking advice
Hi All,
I was offered a Rolex GMT 1675 with box+documents (dated 1960), the S/N is 504xxx , but after some research at gmtmaster1675, I'm wondering if it could have been serviced. It seems to me in a bit too good condition, with few signs of wear... Also, the"8s" appear rounded, instead of oval, and this could indicate a serviced part. So I thought about asking for the opinion of you more experienced guys: maybe the picture could bring some light... thanks in advance. |

Hi,
Service dial, hands, insert for sure. Hard to judge the crown guard shape (picture and previous polish job not helping) but seems to be an expected pointed crown guard case.

You've got a eagle beak or pointy crown guard watch with service dial etc as stated by everyone.
1) it would be about 1/2 to 2/3 value as a result and limited resale opportunities unless say £7k or less... Alternatively and depending on calibre and mid-case and caseback being correct / period... 2) for the adventurous a project... you could find all the right bits for $20k and it might be a nice valuable piece

The asked price is around US$16k and considering all the serviced parts, is neither collectable nor elegible for bringing it back to the original state... It's a pitty, but I'll pass this one.
Many thanks for the feedback, my friends. |
