The purple is of course a blue dial with a minor paint fault, there are no purple dial 16613s. Most common to see them in the early '90s. Mine is from 1992/3. I wouldn't paid too much of a premium for one. Is £8k for a full set and for a watch in very nice condition, then probably not too far off the mark.

As Gabriel says 88-99 most centering around 90-93.
If you're lucky the original bezel turns purple as well a bit. £8k full set is in the postcode I'd say This one nice patina but quite a bit toppy. Hands can be a shade lighter. Also one to look at are the early 90s 16613 with a so-called 'stardust dial' (another dial lacquer/paint defect), which has thousands of tiny gold specks on the dial which complement the gold writing on the dial and bezel. Rolex Submariner Date £9,746 https://chrono24.app/rolex/rolex-sub...GB&SETCURR=GBP

I'm kicking myself for selling mine (I believe it was 1994), It had a beautiful purplish dial. The money is now long gone and the price for them are now much higher.
Good luck in finding a good value one. |
