Milan handbag shopping

Hey guys a good friend of mine is flying to Milan for vacation; his wife wants to go handbag shopping…never been don’t know the area. Any recommendations on places to go (or avoid) for shopping are much appreciated! Thanks everyone!

LOL!!!

But to be fair, it was in Milano that i found out about cashmere Brioni tracksuits and hoodies well over a decade ago. Expensive, sure, yet totally worth it!!! Wearing cashmere daily TOTALLY changed my outlook on life during 2020 / 2021

Am sure Steve's wife will love shopping in Milano.

I can only imagine …

I’m more of a selvedge denim guy … perhaps the exact polar opposite feel of cashmere

lol my wife would love to go shopping in Milano….but I was asking for a good friend of mine. Super hard working dude, he and his wife never splurge or blow money on non-essentials but they are finally taking a proper vacation and going all out. Excited for them to have fun; when he asked me about shopping in Milano for a bag (because he knows my wife loves to collect handbags) I told him I knew just the group of friends to ask lol.

If he wants to be a bit classic and romantic, may i humbly suggest mid-morning tea at Four Seasons with small / sweet bites, then all the fine shopping is right there for your friend's / her enjoyment. Always nice to be hydrated / small snack before perusing luxury goods and services imho.

ymmv

Milan airport will cover most of the bases to be honest. And if they do not have what you want there in the store, they will ship to you.

Keep in mind that as non-EU resident, which I assume you are, you can claim back VAT upon exiting the EU. VAT is 22% in Italy IIRC, and prices are shown including it (as opposed to the US). You won't get it all back, but you will get about 15% back which is still nice. Depending on the brand, exchange rate, and discount, that can make a significant difference compared to prices in the US.

It may be a bit convoluted but if you like to save money it is something to look into.
This is one of the major companies handling VAT refunds.

Did you end up making it to the massive Gucci outlet outdid the city? I hear they have insane sales. If you're a fan of the brand.
