real talk: should I seek counsel for addiction?

Fewer than 2 weeks ago, I bought this piece and thought it would be my forever one and only piece.

But darn it, Rolex just makes too many beautiful dials and I'm itching again for another piece.

I suspect I have an addiction issue. Should I seek counsel?

If your addiction to expensive luxury watches is harming your life in any way, whether it be finances or relationships, then seek counseling. If not, you are fine. There are much worse addictions. Your watch is a real beauty. That would keep me satisfied for a long while.

Yep, watch collecting is a great hobby. You can start small and then sky is the limit, the journey never ends :) It's not easy to keep it under control, but at least it's a healthy addiction. I still have my first Casio that I got when I was a kid, still have my first mechanical Seiko, still have my first luxury, and so many memories :) Still waiting for my first brand new Rolex lol. Hopefully I'll get it soon

Nice day-date, near the top.

Will you get value in your life from another watch?

Maybe instead of more, you need the one watch to rule them all...?

I understand, It is an addiction Rolex or just luxury watches anxiety.

But if $$$ watches there will be keepers and do, there might be a time where addicts to watches would need to eventually sell or give away. Well then you do.

If you can afford and does create family friction… then you can decide.

But yes we need “counseling”.

Best

You have an illness. That is why you are here. It's why we are here. There is no hope but much happiness.

My first Rolex was supposed to be my last watch. Something to sit at the top of my collection. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

I imagine very tongue in cheek comment, no counselling needed, just buy buy buy ..

The only addiction that needs any sort counselling is one that effects your health, life, and state of mind. Buying watches only effects your bank balance which if you can afford does not damage or need ant form of counselling whatsoever.

Doesn’t appear that you have a problem yet. DD is a gateway watch though.

At least with Rolex collecting, you won’t lose much if not make something, if and when you decide to sell. I just sold my FF at 50% of what I paid.

Ppl here are afflicted with the same ailment you have. Coming here to seek counsel is like an alcoholic going to a liquor store to ask for help.

Just enjoy the journey till the next one

Congrats on your platinum (?) DD. If your bank account permits (and it would appear that's not an issue), you can buy as many watches as you want and don't restrict yourself to Rolex. A beautiful watch and no disrespect, but it appears too big for your wrist, perhaps 36mm is more suitable? All the same wear it in good health. Cheers

One should always try to limit your collection to N+1 watches.
Where N is the number of watches you currently own.
