Color Coordinating

How many of you give much thought to this when it comes to your watch's color? I have my eye on a Starbucks Sub that my local AD has but I feel it won't look good on many of the shirts I own.

Ref. Starbucks

Dear TG,

I have been perusing the Starbucks lately too, tbh I was looking at the Hulk but that had a bit too much green in it, and it was counterintuitive to be elegant. I finally arrived at the Starbucks as the ideal choice. I have a Pepsi on a Jubilee that goes well with shirts, but the next reasonable choice would be the Starbucks, the Green *Ceracrom Ceramic with the black dial is perfect. It's actually a very elegant watch for a diver, it's on par with the black ceramic sub (original).
If I were you, seeing that based on your choice selection you seem to be conservative when it comes to watches, the Starbucks seems like the watch that you would 'eventually regret not buying' it seems like the ideal choice.
Albeit: it's very very easy to resell and if you're buying it 'list price' or close to MSRP from an AD you won't lose any money reselling in the future.
The first thing that came to my mind was ' wow, a Starbucks, available? at an AD... ' but then again I am a watch enthusiast.
That was my two cents, I hope it will assist; in you making the right decision. *If you decide to get it, enjoy it... never get buyer's remose; a very nice watch indeed, your future self will come back to Thank You again and again.
Good Luck and all the Best.

Color Coordinating

At one point, I was concerned. Not so much anymore. With that said, I’m not sure I’d want a red or pink dial watch.

It's a consideration for me, but not a deciding factor.

I match my watch to my footwear and belt. Barring that I coordinate with another piece of clothing. While I have watches in virtually every color of the rainbow, the white, silver, black, and blue ones get the vast majority of wrist time. These tend to match either the leather or hardware of the aforementioned pieces. I have two green watches. One is on a black strap so it gets some wrist time. One is on a bracelet. It gets somewhat less.

You may, of course, do as you choose but green would not be my first choice for a dial or bezel. After one has several watches, it is an excellent novelty.

FWIW, I find a pink dial more versatile and I like the red dial that I have a lot, but i am not trying to be argumentative. The red, like the green, is much harder to match to an outfit.

It would bother me but my limited wardrobe conveniently avoids this problem. All my clothes are blue, grey, black or white. All my watches are blue, grey, black or white…

I, however, possess no style or fashion sense like Wayne above.

Well then, time to go shopping for some new outfits :)

PS: How many different colored / types of watch straps do you plan on? Some gets straps to match their sports jackets / suits / etc.

I don't really color coordinate often but I would not wear a watch that totally clashed with what I was wearing.
If I was to only have one Rolex/nice watch I would not have a green sub unless I LOVED green but luckily I have more than a few watches so that did not stop me from buying a Hulk

You do not and probably should not match your watch to your shirts. Țhat can look excessive and matchy-matchy like your Mom dressed you.

Contrast is your friend in fashion.

I have to agree with this.

As a LV owner I never care of it matches or not. I feel like the two ideas are a bit independent of each other

I think Scottie Scheffler picked his watch to match his jacket.... Kind of the ultimate color coordination.

Who cares?

The last thing I put on before I hit the door is my timepiece.

If it doesn't match my pants, shirt or underwear and I get hit by a bus, I guess the medics can go 'wow, that guy's watch doesn't match his outfit!'

That watch would clash with his orange outfit today. A neutral black or white watch works for all eventualities, wherever the day may take you.

Pretty much always

I match the dial and/or strap with my shoes.

I think that green sub would look great with almost everything.

I guess I'm in the minority here. I wouldn't want a green watch for that very reason.

My expensive watches are neutral colors: rhodium, silver, black, or white, so no issues. The only time I worried about whether my attire and watch would match, was on my wedding day. Naturally, I chose the silver dial OP. Other than that, I wear whatever my mood dictates, no matter the color of my tee shirt and shorts.

Doesn't match with his orange jump suit.

I've got one Rolex a Starbucks, I wear it all the time, but then again I get told off by my wife for wearing patterned shorts and shorts! Apparently that's a 'thing' not to do??

Yup, I match my watches with my outfits - colors that compliment each other, pick up accents, match other accessories, etc

I prefer any metals to be the same, so I have multiple flavors of wedding rings, as well.

As the vast majority of my days are spent in jeans or shorts and a tee, I don’t worry too much about clashing.

Color is good!

It's not something I put much thought into. But I do wear basic colored clothing (white, navy, grey, black, etc) so most watches work well

I have a polar Explorer II that goes with everything which is why I'm looking at something that pops.

I agree to an extent. I just think it'll look silly with a navy blue or brown shirt.
