I want my bloody ONE mm!!

Hi guys,

Another crazy post from downunder

Well, guys, like I've said before, the Exp-II (for some unknown reason) has always been advertised as a 40 mm Rolex; but in reality is only 39 mm.

Although the picture below is not a very accurate representation probably due to the effects of "parallax" with the camera, I have used the same ruler to measure my other Rollies which always came up as 40 mm.

In short, the Exp-II is definitely 39 mm only (NOT including the crown). I know, the pic below is not very perfect, but when looked at from the top at an angle of 90 degrees, the actual case diameter is 39 mm and NOT 40 mm as Rolex claim it to be!!

JJ, I was just reading a story online about how the new way to tell sure fire fakes is that they are exactly one mm shy of 40. I really wish I could remember the webpage, but I will try to find it and post it ASAP. Sorry to break the news to you baldie.

Clearly this one is not a keeper.

So what's it gonna be next. Not a DD or DJ - at 36 mm, they are missing 4 whole mm.

Could it be a return to the TT Blue Sub. Nah. Aha - what else, but the Daytona - it's got 40 mm +.

My prediction - within 6 months (and that's being conservative), the "loveofmylifeEXP" will be history, having been replaced by the "greatestrolexevermadeDaytona".

Scrap it!

JJ,
You obviously will never be happy with this short coming. (Pun Intended!) As I am a good freind of yours, I'm willing to help with this situation. Simply send the watch to me and I will dispose of this scourge on your soul! Nice guy like you... You just shouldn't have to live this way!

By the look of your thumbnail this missing mm is really playing on your nerves JJ. I'd sell it and get the Daytona.

jj.. maybe the 1mm loss is an optical illusion.. a lighter dial (such as white) may not be susceptible to this problem!

Since JJ seems to have millimeter envy, anyone want to take bets on how long the ExpII will last?

I say it's gone before Christmas.

With my GMT-II (which weighed in at 126 gms instead of 127), it was ONE gram....now it's ONE mm.

When will this madness end?

Perhaps but I think we've all heard, "honest guys, Zemina will kill me if I flip this watch," almost as many times as we've heard, "honest guys, this watch is a keeper, I'll never part with it."
