Black Friday is almost here. Do you NEED anything?
The general consensus at work is no. It'll be a fizzeler. I remember in 03-05 when the line here at the "Mega electronic" store was some 400-1000 deep for xyz product. That was at 2:30 in the morning! Last year a friend & I went at 7am and no lines to speak of maybe 25 people. After flat screen tv what's next? I'm good with what I have. How about you?

The truth is I "need" nothing. I'd like the new PS move controls though, so my son and I can play a bit. That does not, however, mean that I'll be out on Black Friday. Amazon.com all the way here for Christmas shopping.

I have NEVER got up early to stand in line for black Friday. EVER !!
Hell, I never even go shopping on black Friday lol This year is no exception. I don't need anything, and don't want anything. Unless of course, my AD is having a blow-out black Friday sale on a submariner, than I'll be camping out overnight there :) |

I'm pretty lucky to say that I have everything I need, but I would gladly stay in line overnight for a nice Specialized Stumpjumer FSR Elite 2011. It would be my 4th bike in 11 months,I'm really into it. After 2 French bikes and 1 Italian I want to give this piece of American steel a shot,I bet I would be very satisfied !!!

And, no, I won't wait in line for a "great deal" on that year old computer, even if it is 90% off. |

I hear ya, Mike. I've spent most of my working life on off shifts. We're so slow these days I'm stuck on day shift, because there is no other shift. I gotta get up in 6 hours, start at 5:30 am with a 45 minute drive.
But, on a plus, I'm working Saturday for the first time in over a year, so things really are slowly starting to pick up. And, on days, I can make it for dinner at the Cleveland GTG on Friday. |

I heard stores honor their Black Friday prices online.
That would explain my only attempt last year staying up all night, waiting in line at Toys R Us, getting a few items and a large item tag, waiting in line to pay then finally making it to the Large Item Pick Up door only to find out the item was sold out!! Then I had to go back in to the store to get a refund! I was ready to ( I heard the employees look at the thing I wanted to buy and they said to each other that all 5 were online purchases that they had in stock) Then a few days later, my freind and his wife explained just log on the different stores website and purchase what you want online and pick it up later!!!

I will not get up at some strange hour to get a deal and I don't buy on line. I still do it the old fashioned way hitting the bricks with my wife for Christmas shopping. It gets me in the holiday spirit!!!

Very true Lion. I myself like to go to the mountain towns like Auburn, Ca, or Placerville, Ca. The old gold rush era towns that have their own charm.
