5yr old Omega PO 42mm price?
My buddy just text me and he came across a Planet Ocean 42mm Date only that is 5yrs old that is in excellent condition. Original box but no papers and original owner. The band needs to be replaced but everything else looks great. It has never been serviced but keeps excellent time. Any idea of what a good price would be for my buddy to pick this watch up for? Thanks for any help everyone.

I think a replacement Omega bracelet is about $800. Of course a leather or rubber strap is lower cost. But with a new bracelet it is probably worth $2100-2500. So I would say about $1500.

Make sure he is very careful of this watch as it is one of the most commonly faked...

To confirm, the piece I am looking at does not need a new bracelet. The bracelet clasp does not close. The bracelet itself is in great shape. My neighbor is an AD and is confident he can repair the clasp for very little cost. I also will likely sell the bracelet for a rubber with white stitch and deployant anyway. The casing is 9/10 condition. Is $1700 a solid deal for such a piece?

Yes, if it checks out $1,700 is a very good deal for that watch.

Thank you for the input Daniel. I'm having it tested/inspected tonight. Hope it all works out.

Yes, if you are sure the clasp can be fixed easily, then $1700 is one of the best deals I have seen on that model in the past year or more. I've seen just a couple for less and many for hundreds more.
