Up for sale is this 100% authentic and now-discontinued IWC Aquatimer ref. 3548-05 in brushed steel on the fantastically designed integrated bracelet. This classic automatic diver comes complete with inner and outer boxes, manuals, IWC guarantee card, polishing cloth, bracelet tools and I am also throwing in the valuable bonus of the model-correct genuine IWC black rubber strap with signed tang buckle. With the somewhat mixed reception garnered by the new iteration of sapphire bezel Aquatimers, I feel sure that this two-crown beauty is destined to become more and more highly regarded by IWC enthusiasts as the years go by. I have worn this great watch in careful rotation with some of my other modern pieces and it is in Excellent overall condition with only minor scratches to the case & bracelet, some marks from strap changes and a minor nick or two to the prominent steel bezel. Neither the watch or bracelet has ever been polished and both retain all original factory finishes.

The legendary integrated bracelet with quick-release link system is currently sized for my 7.25" wrist but has all 3 extra links, so it should fit up to about 7.75". The pure black dial with applied white metal makers is Mint, as are the oversized luminous hands and inner rotating bezel, all with Luminova luminous. Unlike the colorful Titanium version of this model line, there is a Bauhaus purity to the design of this black & white diver.

As stated above, I am including the OEM black rubber dive band along with all the other goodies. It should be noted that while removing the bracelet is quite easy, there is a well-known issue with a differing tolerance of the tubes in the ends of the rubber strap, making it a royal PITA to install. I would recommend taking it to a proper watchmaker or your local AD if you do not have a lot of A) patience and B) experience doing this. ;)

The sapphire crystal is flawless and the subtle anti-reflective coating is unmarred.

This great Aquatimer is keeping good time and I do not believe the caseback has ever been opened--the original caseback sticker is still present. The top oversized Probus Scafusa-signed crown screws down properly and unscrews to quickset the date and hackset the time. The lower oversize crown rotates the unidirectional inner elapsed time bezel counterclockwise exactly as designed and only when the crown itself is rotated clockwise. I have not had this rugged watch pressure tested, so I am not guaranteeing the WR. But a good watchmaker will be able to confirm that for you and I'm sue it is up to its 1000 meter depth rating.
