FSOT: Rolex 5513 No Date Submariner 2.5M Serial - 1970 !! Absolutely Gorgeous !!

This 42 year old Rolex Submariner is a marvel to behold. The original matte dial has aged gracefully and is in magnificent original condition.

This watch was purchased about 18 months ago from a well know and respected vintage Rolex dealer. It had just come back from a full service. My own watchmaker has scoped it and found it running COSC average timing in 4 positions. Amplitude is near perfect as well.

It is in overall excellent for condition for a watch of its age. While under high magnification you can see the minor scars of daily use, on the wrist it looks mint! The previous owner chose to lightly polish the surface of the case as opposed to a full restore, and I think it is the correct decision... Apart from the aging hour markers, it is difficult to tell just how old it really is! Serial number and model numbers are still crisp. No corrosion visble on the dial. The specks you see in the photos are on the crystal and not the dial. I can see only one tiny speck on the dial.

It came fitted to an excellent 93150 bracelet. I believe that all links are present. The crystal is fine, but does have several scratches and chips as would be expected from plastic. I am told by the previous owner that the dial, hands and bezel are all original and that perhaps the crystal was replaced during an earlier service.

I do not have the original box and paper set, sadly.

Asking $5550 on your wrist by fully insured fedex overnight shipping to any address in Canada or the US.

I will consider trades for other high end Swiss or German watches, but I will only trade within Canada.

The watch is in Montreal, Canada, and is available for local inspection.
