Bracelets dont have serial number , only reference number in the clasp or near the endlink

I see a Tudor 75000 with ONLY 5 digit serial no. 397XX . Is that fake?

I have a Tudor Sub 79190 with serial number starting in b633. Does anyone know what year this might have been manufactured?

My guestimation is about 1997..+/- ..from what I gather from some searching +/- a few years..?!?

Found thif one at my dads tool box, it has been there for almost 20 years. Time to get it rocking again. I went to the service with it, and took a full service to it. I really love to look and feel of this timepiece. :) It's just legendary!



Ps. bracelet not original though :( I'm going to replace it with a Nato Strap, until I found a original bracelet to it.

More pics coming soon (1-2 weeks) after I get it from the service. The clock is working like a charm, but I got it to the service just to be sure. The clocksmith tought the same even if he mentioned that the mechanism was in mint shape, because of not being used that much. :)

They're:

- Cleaning up and oiling the mechanism
- Polishing the body
- Polishing the glass (get rid of the scratches)
- Changing the seals

Sorry for my bad english, not into the clock vocabulary yet. ;)

I suppose the -66 SUBMARINER is relatively rare?

Looks like a great piece - I would suggest you ask in the Vintage forum but everything you stated looks good with the possible exception of polishing the case - sometimes polishing removes too much metal that you can't get back ;)

I would suggest not to change the hands / dial / crown if at all possible - good luck

Thanks for your help! Yea, the clocksmith said that he will be gentle with the body, he will just polish it slightly (remove the dirt from difficult places). It didn't have any deep scratches on the body itself.

The crown need to be replaced at some point, if I want to to be 100% waterproof because the seals in the crown and the tap is like 50 years old (propably gone bad).

I think this watch is a great start to me getting into the world of real watches!

..Sounds like a plan to me.. - A classic that will out-live us all..IMO..!!

hi i have a tudor watch which i bought recently from an auction it was sold to me as a tudor "rolex"watch from the 1920's i would like confirmation of this! i have looked at other tudor serial numbers quoted on this thread but none corrospond with mine. my watch has a 6 digit serial number with a 3 digit number underneath it. the serial number on the back of my watch is as follows:-

250

any help with this would be much appreciated

I posted this back in 2/2013. I have an update from my father. This 7928 with serial 409860 was purchased in 1965 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. He had the card, papers and the original box. He had it serviced Rolex had the cert papers from there as well. Well Mom cleaned out one day and tossed the lot. He gave to a Watchmaker "friend" and this guy trashed it. It is now in pretty rough shape and I am looking for the correct insert, and a rose dial. Aftermarket is fine as its going to be a daily wear while my 1680 Rolex Sub is put away. Thanks in advance
