the ER/trauma teams patched me together a few times (GSW, a couple of wrecks, a stabbing, flashover, and on and on)

You have my utmost respect, sir! I was in a motorcycle accident, with a severed femoral artery and crushed leg. They saved my life, but I lost the leg. It was a horrifying experience.
