My super franken 1601 Datejust

You guys will laugh your guts out on this one, but I think its pretty cool and much nicer than the grandfather grade 1601 steel datejust.

No harm done, everything is reversible except the dial which I still have in case I get tired of it.

Here is a bill of materials:

A specially made Daytona 6263 replacement bezel, same size except a little thicker to give clearance to the crown. The datejust has a smaller case but the same crystal size.

Milgauss aftermarket hands refitted with center hole for the 1570 movement

My special red X and a repainted glossy black dial

That's it, and my new stock of Nato straps made with tightly woven nylon like the original MOD NATO straps.

That's AWESOME! I love watch modding and have a modded SKX007. I love that you took your Rolex and made it what you want. Nothing cooler than having something unique and exactly what you specified.

Looks . . . stunning !

I think that with a plain bezel it would look even better !

But . . . congrats . . . nicely done . . .

that would look even cooler with a fluted bezel.

sorry to buck the trend but IMO you shouldn't mess with a classic. Long live the Datejust!
