Dilemma

Hi guys

As you know I've a new yacht master 35 mm . It's heavy. The ad is helping me and is letting me use the money towards a more expensive watch. The new one it's a31mm datejust blue dial, scattered diamonds, Roman numerals.

I have a day to make up my mind. What would you advise?

Thanks

It's very expensive (usually a loss to you) to flip quickly to an AD. Can't you keep it and save for the 31mm? They're so different.
You were praising your YM so recently, I have to think you do like it.

If you can't get comfortable with it do the flip. No use having it if your not gonna wear it. I personally like the weight of my Rolexs. I don't find it heavy. Takes a little time to get accoustom to.

Just a thought, maybe it's the heat/humidity making it feel more uncomfortable ? That combined with getting used to a more solid Rolex. Sorry I can't help any more than this, it's a tough call, good luck.

I love the ym. I fear that I won't get used to the weight. The new watch is 13k. I paid 10 for mine. The ad is letting me have the new one for 3k more. He's absorbing the restocking fee. Guess he'd have given me the discount on the other watch.

If you have already entered into negotiation with your connection, it sounds very much like you already know what is in your heart. It is possible to love something and know that it is not meant for you. At least, that is what the judge told me....

I would break this down into 2 components.

1. Are you sure you don't want the YM anymore?

2. Is that particular Datejust a watch that you would have considered in the first place or is it just "the lesser of 2 evils" that happens to be available?

I also think that if you feel pressured to make this decision then it is probably not the ideal solution.

Sorry I haven't offered any specific advice. Good luck!

I think it's the lesser of two evils. I'm not sure about the ym and mainly don't want to regret it. I feel like if I've a way out, then maybe I should take it.

I would make sure that I am wearing the watch in a manner that will minimize the feel of the weight. The heavier the watch the more important to get the proper fit. If the watch is worn loose it likely will feel heavier as the mass is moving around. It should be worn just above the wrist knuckle and you should be able to get a finger underneath. It should not feel tight, but unable to move below the wrist knuckle and not flopping around.

It's not flopping around. It's just heavy.

You have to do what you have to do, can't be helped, don't waist time being upset, get the right Rolex on your wrist and be happy !

How much lighter is the DJ? Do you think it's enough of a weight difference that you'll be HAPPY or just happiER?

Also, what about trading it in for the 29mm YM? That should be substantially lighter then your 35mm.

Update

I weighed the other 2 watches that I was considering as an option. One of them was only 10 grams lighter and the other one was actually heavier.

With that, I kept the Yachtmaster 35 mm. I feel a great sense of relief and have fallen in love with the watch all over again.

Thank you. It is on Tuesday. :) IT wasn't too much lighter so it made my day/month and birthday for sure. IT is so nice to have that nagging doubt removed.

Might I add that a 35mm YM on a woman is extremely sexy :D
