5980 blue dial change ?

Hi all,
i just bought a 5980 with the blue dial but i noticed the dial looks more darker greyish blue then i can remember when i saw it in the past and on pics. Anyone know they changed the color or is it just me? I only have it a half day now so didnt see it it lot of environments.

There are two dial options, blue or dark gray. Sounds to me like you bought the dark gray.

That's blue. Grey dial does not have a white date window.

There's no grey dial version. There is black and there is black-blue. This is the black-blue version.

It is blue but to be sure take pics in sun light and three different angles. Now, if you want to short cycle this process look at your papers!

Pics are more fun and beautiful!

Per Yoda, the date window for the black dial has a black background with white numbers. This picture shows the dial as black-blue, but closer to black.

This is interesting. Keep us posted. Indeed your 5980 blue dial look darker to me. I have 5980 in grey dial and its dial colour look like yours except the date windows is dark background.

This is 100 % the blue dial. It looks grey from some angles.

This is definitely not the black dial.

Perhaps PP upgraded the 5980 blue dial to a darker blue-green-grey to align to the most ideal 5711/1A blue dial.

The 5711/1A-010 Certificate for the blue dial says:

Movement Jewels: 29R
Dial: Noir Trame 12 Index GR SLM C3
Case: Acier
Bracelet: Acier

Note: Noir Trame translates to 'black frame'

your's is def blue.

Blue-grey , that's how it works.

Black dialed are darker and have the date window black with numerals on white.

5726A are grey, and 5711 is more on the blue side

best

It's a blue dial because on the grey one, the small chrono watch hand, are red

I know I'm reviving an older thread but I'm wondering if anyone came up with a clear answer? I just picked up a 5980 and the dial looks more grey (same dial info on papers) but it is not the black dialed version as there is no black date window or red seconds counter. The dial looks different than my 5711 blue dial. I was just curious as to what the consensus was on the dial? Thanks in advance!!
