5070 or 3940+ALS timezone
Hi-
Been going back and forth on which PP to add to my small patek collection, which consists of two perpetual chronos and a minute repeater tourbillon,(i inherited those pieces a couple yrs ago and never wear them...) I have a gold daytona i wear daily, but would like to add a dress watch thats not flashy.... So i've narrowed it to the 5070 or 3940... still debating between the two, the plus with the 3940, is i could squeeze in the ALS timezone as well, which i love... The 5070, which is a gorgeous watch, + ALS would be a bit too much to justify to my accountant :) would love to hear your thoughts on 5070 vs 3940+ALS.. Also, a question on 3940... The 'rotor' on the back, I've seen some are inscribed with the calatrava insignia and others are not(they just have a 22k)... any significance to either? thanks! and sorry for another, which one should i buy thread :) |

5070 for me in RG, Plat or YG. Taste is clearly subjective so everyone will have a different opinion so go with yours! Cheers,

The 5070 would be my choice. But that's a tough call when you already have two chronos you don't wear.

Definitely 3940 plus the ALS for me even if I am on the minority side on this one, first I prefer it to the 5070, second I also love the ALS timezone, it's a great watch IMO, good luck on your decision

thanks everyone for all the responses, truly appreciate it....
Jorge- beautiful Lange's!! and great suggestion on the moonphase, for some reason every time i see a lange model, i end up wanting to get it:) ... i get your point on the timezone, but what draws me to it more is that it has the city that i was born and raised in, listed(for some reason, only on the ones with the lume hands, like yours)... so it has this special thing that havent seen on other world time watches.... that might sound stupid, i know.. but its those little things that make a differnce for me sometimes... |

Get the timezone since you have the attachment. Great casual piece. No need to buy two at once.

You are welcome. The only version with the lume hands is the white gold one. It's the easiest way to differentiate with the platinum version that lacks the luminous material. So I guess you have your answer, because the best reason to buy a watch is when you truly love something about it that always keeps you coming back to it. Cheers !
