1961 seamaster help
Good morning All
Went up to my parents due to an extremely unfortunate death in our family. While at my parents for dinner my dad gave this 1961 (?) Omega Seamaster. It originally belonged to his grandfather. As you can see it was for 40 years of service at his company. It runs, not sure how well it keeps time yet. But, I'd like to get it restored as well as possible while keeping it original. I have zero motivation to ever sell it, even if it was worth a lot (quick google search says it's not worth much anyway) Any help on exact model or whom may do work on vintage Omegas is appreciated. Thanks Hard to see, but on the back it says: Presented to J.C. Wright in recognition of 40 years of service. The white motor company 1961. Also says waterproof and Seamaster Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sorry for your loss...
What a GREAT find, keeping the memories alive.
I'm a firm believer....."their only original once" I wouldn't restore....it looks as though it will clean up real well. I would have complete service done. The watchmaker can sonic clean and wipe down well...NO polish. I have no recommendations for a watchmaker in your area... If I were you I would contact Rikki here on TRF, get his input. Best of luck..... Bob |

Should be model 2846 and most likely from the late 50s although presented in 1961. The dial has unfortunately been redone and the crown replaced but it is a great family piece!

Clark, I can recommend Mark from www.watchdoctorpa@gmail.com. He just completed the sixth vintage watch for me. He does alot of vintage Omegas. His site explains everything including pricing. He is also fantastic in keeping in touch. I'm sending him 5 more watches tomorrow. All vintage, a Tissot, a Bulova, a Benrus, a Longines, and an Omega from 1965. PM me with and other questions.
