Icon17 Couldn't Wait to Give my GF her Present

Well, I've been dating this girl and she is absolutely incredible. We have been having the best time for the last 7 months. She knows that I'm obsessed with watches and knows I'm on this crazy forum all the time. Well I've been getting info from her on what she likes besides LV and shoes. Turns out she has always wanted a Cartier. While on a recent vacation, we went to all the watch shops for me and I had her try on the Cartier Tank Francaise mid-size quartz. She loved it and if she had the money, she'd have bought it, but I said, "Not a quartz!". Her b-day is coming up next month, but I found one that I had to get. A full sized (gent's) auto model. I was going to wait to give it to her, but I couldn't wait. I figured I got my 16610 a month early (bought it myself for my 30th b-day) to beat the price increase, so it was only justified that I give hers a month early.

So I got it yesterday and gave it to her yesterday. I had to go to Radio Shack to get a screwdriver set b/c my screwdriver was too big for such a dressy watch. I got the smallest one they had and I still had to get a wet stone to file it down to fit the tiny screws.

Anyway, she LOVES it.

Without further ado...

Notice the "Cartier" on the VII - pretty cool

The bracelet on this watch is amazing. I wish more watches had this setup.

And here we are on our recent vacation.

That's a gorgeous watch on a lovely wrist.

The vacation shot didn't come through. Would certainly like to see who's attached to the wrist.

Thanks for the words everyone and a special thanks to Karis for her help. She said I should go for the Tank when I asked earlier and she was right on.

Also, I fixed our last pick to you can see the faces behind all this.

That is a lovely present.
Not much of a fan for Cartier watches. But that is a nice looking watch.
Congratulations to you both.

Karis, I think I'm the lucky one!

Thanks for the positives everyone. I wanted to get her a mid-sized Pt YM, but she has always wanted a Cartier. Ever since she was in her teens, she's wanted it. I remember being the same way about my Rolex, so I didn't want her first watch to be anything else. She'll get that YM one day or some other Rollie I want to get for her.

I can relate to that one. With my wife it was:

Lady Datejust? Nope.
Tudor Mini Sub (to match my SD)? Nope.
77080 with Explorer dial? Nope......

Hamilton Ventura? Bingo.
