Buy from internet grey dealer
I'm planning to buy from swissluxury.com
I know I need to take one link off since when I bought my SS sub from the T store, they took one out for me. So my question is should I bring it to RSC, will they do this kind of service? Because i'm afraid if I bring it to some small store, my watch may get scratch. |

Removing a link is SOOOO easy. Just get a small set of electrical screwdrivers/watch screwdrivers. If you don't want to do it yourself, any jeweller will be able to do it easily - I would be stunned if they scratch it. It's a 30 second DIY job. This of course assumes the links are the same as my Daytona - do some Rolexes have "non screw" links?

Any jeweler can do this, and ostensibly that's all most AD's are, Jewelers

You are indeed fortunate to live in New York.. The RSC will probably take out a link and ensure proper fitting for you at no charge.. However, I might not tell them that you bought from a Grey Dealer....That is frowned on by them..

Sam, no question around here is stupid. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.
Never be afraid to ask anything here. Sometimes you'll even get a straight answer.

Most ADs will do the link removal on the spot pro bono.
The ADs hire great sales people normally. Some are very knowledgable and I cant fathom them not helping you out. D |

On my last visit to my local AD, he showed me a brand new kit from Rolex, specifically designed for watch bracelet sizing. In the snazzy box was a perfectly designed holder for all models, with all the size bracelets having a notch. Also, was a new tool for removing the spring bar pin on the newer models along with a complete stock of all necessary pins.
Anyone else seen this? As for sizing a watch, I'd not just walk into any jeweler. First would be an AD, next a Swiss watchmaker. I've heard crazy stories about what some chain jewelers do to fine jewelry and Rolex watches, too. |

No stupid questions. I'd just buy your own screwdriver. Since it is your first one, you may want it adjusted a couple times. If you can screw a screw (sounds funny) you can change your links. It is somehow gratifying anyway. Weird how a little screw can do that.

Will Swiss Luxury not remove a link? I have never bought a watch from them but would think they would if you asked??

Take it to an AD...if you try it yourself and scratch it...you'll lose a bit of magic on that shiny new watch!
