I don't know about what it should be.... this is what it is:

From Basel 2006 Rolex watch exhib.

Green bezels or green dials may be the replicators versions.

Yes. Actually, there is a "black dial" model as well, although not sure it comes in TT or is only in solid gold, like the green dial.

The 50th Anniversary of the GMT Master with a new commemoritive edition. Available only in 18k, it comes in two dial configurations: black dial with green 24 hour hand, or a green dial version, plus now a TT.

Hi subenvy,

A big welcome to TRF. Sorry to hear about your handicap....I knew a friend once who had this same problem. He told me he saw virtually everything in grey. Is this true?

Cheers - JJ

I do like GMT'sand whilst i don't really like the green dial i do like the black dial with the green 24 hour hand in either the BiMet or All Gold.

Particularly like the rolex logo engraved around the outside edge of the dial.

also is the 50th GMTII just a special edition colour combo rather than an actual limited edition?

I mean on the LV Sub's that were produced in 2003 they where inscribed with something to do with the 50th anniversary as well as the box carrying a similar logo.
However all LV's since then have had no reference to it.

what's the score with this GMT and the 3 variations available?

Went to a large AD yesterday and in the window they had one of the new 50th GMT's in 18ct black face with green 4th hand.- so I asked if I could try it on.

This is a seriously nice watch. As we've discussed already it's got quite a few changes.
Triplock crown
Thicker/Deeper Case
New Ceramic engraved bezel with larger numbers
Maxi Dial
New Solid link bracket
New Braclet Clasp (similar to the one on the new daytona)

Very impressed already, although it is very SUB-like with it's deeper case and crown ec...

Agreed Andy...saw the same watch at Mansor's a few weeks ago. Very impressed by the overall get-up of the watch. Priced at US$21,000 though...way out of my league.
