as many said, if patek releases the exact watch as regualr production than the price will drop. but i dont think so. maybe a similar one in precious metall with date, different dial etc.. things would destroy the flawless desing of the 5522. so in this case the price would still increase.

to me it is really not a brainer. the 5522 is superior. it has all what a holy grail watch needs and the potential to be one. perfect size, perfect proporsions, steel case, timeless minimalist design, its clean, understatement, no date (thank god), no unnecessary and in fact useless funktions, it is an alrounder, a gentlemens watch, it has class and character. one of my favorite watches ever. i would still take the 5522 even if it was more expensive than the 5524. no question. its all a matter of taste.

the one thing that will hurt it is if they do a mainline 5522 and put a date wheel at 6. Date window and the 5522 value is fine. But with a date wheel at 6 it will hurt both the 5522 and 5524. One of the main issues if you had to pick one people say is the void at the bottom of the dial.

I don't think they will, but that is the only thing that would undermine the existing watches IMO

yes you are right that would hurt especially the the 5522. even if i personally would still prefer the clean look of the 5522.

I should have the watch tomorrow so I'll upload some pictures then. In the meantime this is a pretty neat video.

cool video, thanks for sharing.... congrats on the watch, I don't know much about it, but I cannot imagine that it will not at least hold its value.
