So initially after service I was about +1 per day. A few months past service I seem to be -1 a day on wrist; self regulated by taking off my watch at night it corrects itself.

So in summary +1 off wrist, -1 on wrist a day. Sometimes even less than a second deviation a day. Not bad IMHO.

Stopped checking. Used to be obsessed with accuracy. It was good enough then and still keeping good time.

Yes.....have learned over the years not to get too wrapped up in accuracy with Rolex. If split second accuracy was a must, there are other routes to go!

I think my BBR is 5-10s fast/day. Doesn't bother me.

I'm at zero with dial down regulation at night. (I'm noticing that if I manually wind every 4 days or so in addition to wearing it, it adds to the accuracy.)

A finer mechanical watch that gains or loses about six to nine seconds a day or about a minute a week has a breathtaking precision of over 99.99 per cent. This is very high precision, given the fact that the movement is constantly affected by the earth's gravity, metal expansion and contraction, temperature variations, subtle changes in lubrication and friction, shocks, and so on.The fact is that no mechanical watch made will keep perfect time, very close yes but perfect no.And if any mechanical watch performs consistently inside the CO SC spec of -4+6 seconds a day don't think anyone could ask anymore from any purely mechanical watch

And any modern day wristwatch chronometers are, by the almost 300 year old 18th century navigational standards imposed on John Harrison,H4 watch, quite laughably inaccurate even by todays standards. How about just 5 seconds slow after 63 days at sea,in one of the toughest environments known to man, not bad for a almost 300 year old watch. Now in those days no modern machinery no computer designs no robots, just his bare hands and crude tools. So next time when you look at your watch and only a few seconds out it wont feel so bad.Your watch is fine just wear it and enjoy it whats in a few seconds a day.
I’m sure there’s a good reason but I sometimes wonder why mechanical wristwatches aren’t closer ro (or even better than) the H4.

Yes, a wristwatch has a hard time being swing around, but the H4 must’ve subject to a bit of motion and heat changes on a voyage. Even if you left a modern wristwatch perfectly still in a stable temp room it wouldn’t come close to h4 despite 300 years of advancements in metallurgy, precision engineering and the commoditisation of the watch industry.

How accurate is your watch?

My DSSD D-blue is dead nuts on (+/- 0 secs) after 3 weeks of constant wear.

Wife’s M serial SD 16600 loses about 3 secs a day after recent service. Before service it was +1 sec/day.

Like your DSSD my DJ keeps amazing accuracy almost quartz level. My GMT is running at +1sec/day fast and my Sub is running at just under -1.5sec/day slow. I am happy with that as I insist that my watches accuracy is within Rolex stated guarantee of no more the +2/-2 sec/day, if they are not I take them to RSC to get them regulated or whatever.

I am constantly amazed that some owners are content with around 5sec/day inaccuracy from their watches. So many scream about how their Sports watches are "TOOL" watches but I suspect many on here do not even use them to tell the time of day!

My Sub loses 1.5 seconds daily, so well within COSC specs.

Milgauss Z-Blue

My 4 week old Z-Blue Milgauss is +2 daily. Sounds like I am good for now. Rolex's tech page said the watch was +2/-2 monthly. I'll have to wait and see where she lands after another couple months. I love this thing!

Is this a proven fact?

Can somebody speak to this because I also noticed this with my Sub that winding it every now and then in addition to constantly wearing it helps the accuracy.

Maybe I'm just going crazy and the winding has nothing to do with the accuracy

I just re-read the specifications page on the Milgauss and I stand corrected. Precision is -2/+2 sec/day, after casing. I guess I am right on spec. What site do you use for setting accurate time on your watch?

Thanks,

My watches run perpetually and I rarely manually wind them. I wear them in Rotation and when they are not on my wrist they are on my watch winder. I check the accuracy monthly and syncronise them to my iphone clock. They all seem to stay at a near constant level of inaccuracy and within Rolex stated guarantee of -2/+2 sec/day.

Datejust 41 and 114060. Both less than a second fast per day. DJ really easy to regulate by placing crown up. Can go for months without getting more than a few seconds out.

Consistently +1 sec per day since I bought it brand new from AD around month ago.

I have worn it doing all everyday stuff. I do not pamper the watch at all.

The new 3235 movement is really nice.

On April 22nd at 9:00 pm I set my Datejust 41. I just checked it at 9:30 this evening. Over the course of one month, the gain/loss was ZERO seconds. Incredible!!! I never took it off even once during the month; perhaps that helped the watch maintain its accuracy.
