+1. They are randomized. The first one produced could be #189, any number is just as likely.

Still waiting for mine. Actually hoping mine arrives in 2021. One too many watches already for 2020.

This makes sense. I just received an email from Hodinkee stemming from my original inquiry last week. In their reply they stated there were a number of watches on hand that were shipped in the order the orders were received the next day or soon after. The remaining watches were/are still in Switzerland with production being slightly delayed due to worsening local COVID conditions.

that means that they are still being produce, hopefully they dont rush the jobs! so these watches will be shipped directly from Switzerland or from USA? I see previous posters that the first deliveries are all based in USA

I’m just going to take their word for it that the watch will be here soon enough. They have such a strong reputation to uphold I have no doubt they will deliver.

Part of me does wish it would arrive just after the new year lol

Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much.
When the Omega 10th anniversary was released, they issued a very nice store credit for the slight delay, even though it was not technically their fault. Either way, I have a feeling it is coming soon.

Absolutely. When I allow myself to step away from it a bit I can enjoy the unexpectedness of it all. Knowing it’s Hodinkee v an individual that has my money prevents me from having real worry. So in a way I’m getting free entertainment talking watches with you gents while we all wait. Even for those that may not be on the receiving end this go round, you still get to enjoy all the banter too. Win/win.

Great suggestion! Next best thing to having the watch in hand. To the lucky few that already have it on their wrist, a video please if/when you have the time.

Agreed. Let’s see a video! I’m patiently checking the order status every three hours.

Let me guess, did you get excited when you open your email and see a new HODINKEE mail in your inbox, hoping it's the shipment update but to your horror, it's Year In Review: Our Favorite Vintage Watches From The HODINKEE Shop In 2020.

Cause, that's what happened to me

Exactly! Every time when I pulled down the notification I’m hoping to see Gmail with Hodinkee+shipped…

Received an updated email today:

Congratulations on your purchase of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms MIL-SPEC Limited Edition for HODINKEE!

As you know, we were anticipating shipping your watch by the end of December. However, due to the recent surge in COVID cases in Switzerland and around the world, production and shipping have both been slowed down.

Because of this, your watch is now expected to deliver by mid-January. We will continue to keep you updated

Hey- it’s a lot shorter wait time than the new Kermit !

Now that the hands have been brought to our attention, I must admit that the hour hand looks too long but it's not a big deal to me. To me, at least, this is the best modern Blancpain release I've seen.

I hope Blancpain is being careful installing the replacement hands. I'd rather have it done right than done quickly. The fact that it's apparently being done in Switzerland and not stateside makes me feel better.

I don’t believe there’s been any confirmation of a hand change going on. It seems like a general production delay.

If that's the case, that's even better. I just hope they aren't rushing it.

For those wondering how the hour hands look over the markers..
Looks like the tip points exactly at the center of the hour plots

Looks well thought out then not a mistake, specially if the tip is pointing to the middle of new larger lume plot!
