Had some open slots in the wine cooler and needed to get my 2019 Sliver Oak bottles to keep the collection going.

BUT... I have a problem! The cooler is to Humid, white "mold" and labels are getting all messed up! I called EuroCave and they walked me through an elaborate recalibration process. I'll let it sit for a day and then I need to take out every bottle, clean them with a vinegar solution, wipe the inside, let it sit for 30 mins, put a new charcoal filter in it, put them all back and Hope this goes away! I'll get a count but i think 30-40 bottles are looking like crap. What a total Bummer.

I guess we need to start drinking more wine. I've kind of slowed down a little but some of the older bottles need to get opened.

Well that's not good news.. ! - a big problem looks like. How or why did that happen ??Did you miss a filter replacement as scheduled..or other issue not known.?? It's a bummer no matter how you look at it. Hope you can resolve it without too much of a loss..! - Good luck there Bud..!

Ouch!

We’re about to start a major drink off of our cellar. We’re listing the house in a few weeks and the new one doesn’t have a cellar so we’ll go back to one of the 200 bottle wine fridges. It’s been in storage for 20 years so I guess I should plug it in and see if it still cools down.

Today’s line up. The Pinot before dinner, Cab Franc with the beef short ribs and horseradish polenta dinner, and the Merlot for after dinner.

This is a fun topic! I can’t believe I haven’t posted in here before. Had this Hess estate grown, fantastic wine for the price.

Paid off the mortgage today so we’re celebrating with a nice red blend from WA before I start cooking venison tenderloins.

Enjoyed this one quite a bit. If you’re a Malbec fan, recommend giving this one a try.
