It resembles a dial that is damaged.

Great pic.

It’s like it’s a copier running out of toner.

I totally love it... Each dial is unique. The opposite to mass-produced uniformity.

I would take one in a heartbeat. Love the understated uniqueness to them. Stock picture isn’t great but this one I found is pretty cool.

Well, I did love this watch, until people here said it looks damaged.

Yep, I can't unsee it, it looks like it's a faulty finish

Dammit. Oh well, I can't afford one anyway! haha

I like the way it’s just different. Not crazy but just enough to be special. No different than an oddball meteorite dial. Too many boring conformist here. “I love black dials!” I bet you all live in brooks brothers polos and khakis too….. sheesh

The good news is actual water damage won't show that much on this dial

Meh. This particular dial reminds me of a storm at night on the ocean. Maybe a view from Chewy's yacht.

This is one you have to see in person - if I knew how to post video on here I would show all a short clip I took that shows the Falcon eye effect - I am enamored with it - but I also like stone dials - what I like about it is how at certain angles it looks pure black but when you move it in the right light you get the “streak” effect - what A LOT of people miss that haven’t seen it in person is that they think it looks like the stock photo at all times - the photo is a static look at a dynamic dial that is more subtle than you think…..

I think it’s cool having “stealth” stone dial on a “stealth wealth” WG Yachtmaster - honestly I haven’t talked about it until now because I want these rare pieces to stay under the radar

I kinda like it. Subtle and uniquely flawed.

This was one I was enamored with… until trying it on in person. Completely underwhelming in every way. The only YM dial that still kills in my mind is the matte black 126655 with red writing. I think putting a black enamel dial or this incredibly boring dial instead of a matte one is a wasted opportunity. Especially on the new yellow gold YM42.

… although I’ve heard rumors of the 126655 being discontinued soon from 2 ADs

An eagle eye finish would have looked a lot better than a falcon's eye stone dial, IMHO.

So how is the dial different from the regular YG. Besides the texture is one an onyx/stone dial and the other is what, ceramic?

The only difference between this version and the regular YM is the dial. Falcons Eye is quartz I believe and has it's own look to it.
