1.Dealer lists it at 40k, buys it at 35-36k (sales price of other greys and individuals)

2.All the other greys follow and raise the prices

3.Dealer is able to sell because he's one of the bigger names, because all the prices are now 40k he has to buy at 38-40k and sells them for 44k

4.All the other greys follow suit

5.Rinse and repeat

Oh yeah, plus I suppose I am saying I think it's rude that you tried on your ADs Daytona and then laughed at him. But again, you're obviously welcome to have the opinion that that was a polite thing to do

Here's a look at my woman's watch from this morning It's so cute and tiny lol

I’m quite heavily invested in crypto I haven’t actually noticed this correlation Bitcoin is very volatile whilst the watch market never comes down

If the 5711 nautilus can break $100,000 anything is possible.

I have both and the operation of my Zenith feels cheap to the later model caliber that replaced it by Rolex. Although I prefer the steel bezel over the ceramic.

Girly 37mm, manually wound, crappy plastic bezel, silly screw down pushers and POS hollow end links, bracelet and clasp. For Gods sake, doesn’t even say DAYTONA on it. Its no wonder the modern models are going through the roof.

How to check the real price? Ask a grey dealer how much they'd pay for the same watch,.
yes, their list prices on the davidsw website are way too high, i think realistically they offer 10% discount for people who really interested in buying the watch.

Well said sir. I’m glad there are different opinions on the watch, it makes for robust discussion, but there is a reason this watch hasn’t been able to had at retail since 2000. Its simply
not too small, it wears larger than it looks. It’s the perfect combination of elegance and sport. The Daytona is the perfect watch in my opinion.

Daytona is a damn sexy ladies watch. My wife wore one for a while except it was hard for her to tell time on the busier dials. Now she wears a BLNR.

This is your argument? There is nothing about that look I wish to emulate.

Thinking watches are one size fits all is like thinking shirts are one size fits all. For myself, Daytona's are way to small. That's the correct answer for me. You have no say otherwise.

Very well said.

Highly accurate and durable movement, sufficiently water resistant, 3 day power reserve, sporty bezel and dial combined with a more elegant case design, can be dressed up or dressed down for most all occasions, and a case size that is timeless and can be worn by almost any wrist.

Not sure if there is such thing as a “perfect” watch, but for me at least, the Daytona is about as close as it gets.

There are so many women watches in gents range:

1. Tiffany dial is a woman’s watch whatever size
2. Sub date and no date that’s a watch for a lady who has loads of cats
3. Any Datejust coloured dial and palm dial womans watch too

Also they aren’t 40k dollars black dial here £23k which is around 32k US dollars and it’s not selling been listed for ages.

watch market hasn't come down but it went quiet right around may when bitcoin crashed and saw some movement again in sept as it hit 50k (and now as well). i just noticed when bitcoin went from 20k to 65k early this year that's when watches were going up thousands a week but we'll see how it goes in the future

Your opinion is your opinion, absolutely. But you also heavily favor oversized watches. If your EII is 2011 or newer than all of your collection is 42mm or larger, 42 and 44mm respectfully. So yeah, it makes sense that you think a Daytona is small.
