I agree, that is why I started by saying, “...I am not diminishing...”

Having said that, I do think the world on lockdown, stock market losing $3.6 trillion, etc. is hysteria and over reacting. Nothing catastrophic has actually happened (yet). It is all over reaction at this point.

Now, would I love for this overreaction to cause a panic to grey market/flippers and reduce pricing of Rolexes? Heck yeah!

An AD here in Australia was told this week that Rolex will still be releasing new models this year and it will be done online because of the CORVID19 outbreak.

Dates should be the same.

I know the staff member well, its how I get my watches now and he has no reason to lie to me.

I would just keep an eye on their instagram and website. They already did all of the R&D/Production so it would not be wise to wait until Jan 2021 to announce these updated models.

Maybe Rolex could just invite the worlds watch press and you tubers to a special venue at their factory or elsewhere. The Baselworld venue may be off the table but I’m sure they could rustle-up a VIP event somewhere else.

agreed. Basel was on its last breathe.... but still had Rolex and PP as anchors to the show.

Because the watch blogs / reviewers / twitter people will be watching Rolex and PP like a hawk on their websites / instagrams / FB /twitter / or other social media... once something comes out it is going to spread like wildfire and everyone will know in less than 24hrs. And will have same impact to most of the public - because unless you're big watch media or big AD buyer - you're not going to get to handle the new watches anyways and would have stared at them through the Rolex display at Basel

False an part of the hysteria created around corona. It depends which study you believe . Most people here who get it don’t even go to the doctor cause it has mostly a harmless development. So these fall out of the statistics. We have 1% of death every year because of the flu and that equals corona for the moment. Don’t believe the hysteria and relax. We have a saying here between doctors : don’t believe a statistic that you haven’t falsified yourself....“

The statistics quoted in the Scientific American article are from the US, CDC Center for Disease Control. So you are saying their professional scientific statics are incorrect? If so, what are your credentials? And why should anyone believe you?
