Have your Rolex dealer pressure check the watch before trying this. If a gasket were to fail it could be a very expensive exercise.

Would love to see it!
But, in addition to advice above, please make SURE nothing can happen such that watch breaks free (I know you said it won't, but I would make very sure of this). Love to see the pics/video! |

Get it pressure tested, strap 'er on and take that bad boy to the bottom. Please don't forget pics though!

With my luck the picture on my wall would show fish thought to be extinct for twenty thousand years swallowing my watch, right down the gullet!
But ther is no way your luck would be anything like mine

I would absolutely do it. You have access to equipment that most people would never be able to use. If it were me I would already have done it and would be posting the amazing pic of my watch on the bottom of the north sea.
You can see from the responses here that it is something most people would love to do. Good luck I can't wait to see the picture WHEN you do it

I would love to have my DSSD to go down to ocean floor, that would be too cool.
Make sure it's secured tightly so it doesn't move and bang around the equipment. |

I would do it if you are confident they are not going to loose the ROV lol. Pretty sure you are confident of the crew or you wouldn't be entertaining the idea.

I work offshore since 15 years and had this idea also longer time ago.. BUT I would like to strap it on our big hydraulic hammers whilst driving piles in the ground under water.
Never did cz of the risk of loosing the watch down there in the mud. But please go for it and post the link to the video !

----- This is a very cool opportunity! Now, if you were using my watch for this I'd like a little more detail on the "no chance of losing it" claim.
