It wasn't so much about paying mortgage off (although I should have done that in 12 months time). It was more that the LV was worth so much more than I paid for it and the other two I simply was not wearing anymore.

Looking at the title, I was expecting a deep philosophical discussion from a Rolex owner about why he would sell his watches.

Nope. Price went up. Wanted to make money.

OK then.

Still worth buying if you can find a good one.
I’ve had mine a long time and love it.
Flipped multiple Rolex watches over the years but never could part with this one…..

I completely understand. I haven't taken my Tudor GMT off in 8 months. Try the uncle seiko jubilee bracelet. Super fun and my preference over the oyster. It no where near the build quality of the Tudor bracelet, but it sure is comfortable.

Thanks for the tip, though I find the Oyster Bracelet really comfortable and don't even mind the faux rivets now.

Some buy a Rolex to celebrate life achievements or milestones. Shouldn't be quick to judge.

Dan you did the right thing for you, so well done.

Ignoring the noise, do you have pics of the references you sold?

And more importantly…of the pics your late father took for Rolex? That would have made a far more interesting thread…

Agree, but will prices go up again in the near future?

Hey Dan,

You did well. I got a BB GMT three years ago which rendered my 116710LN redundant. Market was strong for the LN and at the same time I got a sweet deal on a Range Rover.
So I let go of a 5 year old daily watch at a profit, got the car and was still left with enough cash for insurance, a service, a set of fresh tyres and a tank full of petrol... Doesn't get much better than that.

Have to agree.

I’m not sure I could’ve parted with that watch, but to each their own.

The pictures would be a really great addition to this thread

Really like the Tudor GMT. As long as you are pleased and like your watches then it was a good move.

Absolutely ridiculous. I've sold a Yachtmaster, a red Sub and a Day-Date. I still like some other watches, but if I stop liking them, why wouldn't I sell them?

Yeah, I’ve sold a half dozen Rolex and vintage Tudors to wear a single Rolex daily. I’m an enthusiast, but not a collector.
