Wear a PM Sub as loose as you describe and with the weight of gold it would be totally annoying and would certainly wear out the bracelet links and pins prematurely. Depends on the "taper" of your wrist/arm and shape of wrist.

I have a perfect flat spot just above the wrist bone and my Sub sits perfectly there tight, stationary, and perfectly comfortable.
No doubt, it is wearer preference, you are certainly right. I was careful with my wording, he has "a" correct take on this, not "the" correct take.

Wear my sub well any watch just slightly above my left wrist bone. Don’t care who sees or doesn’t. Feels and looks like the proper place to wear a watch! But I agree do whatever you like no wrong way. Maybe

I feel like it would need to be super tight to stay up on my arm/ above wrist bone.

Cause wearing a watch a half inch further up your wrist is so much more in your face than below the wrist bone...

And very uncomfortable. Plus watches aren't just for telling time, it's also part of your fashion, so if worn up my arm and I'm on long sleeves, then it doesn't really add to my fashion.. So I rather wear my below my wrist.

Just tried it above wrist bone and it’s definitely cutting off circulation to my fingers.

Not for those of us left handed people who wear the watch on our right wrists.

I suddenly realise why some people describe the crown digging into the backs of their hands. If the watch is positioned slightly further away from the hand, above the protruding bone on the wrist (styloid), then it shouldn't happen!

Wearing one high and tight makes me uncomfortable just to look at it!! I cant imagine wearing one like that just as you in the opposite. Wear what is comfortable to you!

Also, nevermind the crown digging into the hand, how about the whole watch digging into your arm. That's how it looks to me wearing it high

Some I wear loose and they can at times end up down by the hand, most stay above the bone without being too tight. I'm willing to overlook a weird position if a person at least gets the size right.

It's about accuracy for me. Above the wrist bone increases accuracy. More efficient transfer on energy from the wrist to the watch. I can also lift my hand with no restriction and unscrew the crown more easily.

I had no idea wrist position would affect accuracy...….

When the watch is tight to the wrist the rotor captures the motion of your arm more efficiently. When it is worn loose on the wrist this efficiency decreases.

I was told this years ago by a watchmaker. If it's true or not who knows.....

This is the point... no right or wrong... just a spirited discussion... if we all wore em the same it would be boring.

The heavier the watch the more taut the fit i suppose, without being uncomfortable of course.

I agree all wrists and arms are different...mine actually sits on the wrist bone, not above or below, and it is a perfect fit for me

My opinion....and just an opinion, a watch should be worn slightly above the wrist bone protrusion and not below.

It wear mine above the wrist bone and tight. Very little play or movement at all no matter what position my wrist or arm is in. I find that to be the most comfortable to the point where I don’t even realize I’m wearing a watch most of the time.

But that’s just me... I know plenty of others who wear them loose and they’re perfectly fine with it.

All my pictures show my watches below the wrist bone, usually with my wrist cocked to keep the watch stable, giving the impression that watch is uncomfortable to wear.

I wear my watches loose, so if I'm standing, the watch will slide down below my wrist bone, but if I'm sitting, as I am now, and typing, the watch is actually above my wrist bone, because it's more comfortable there than below.

You see, when you wear your watch loosely, it can be positioned wherever it's most comfortable for whatever task is being done, whether it's walking, sitting, eating, basket-weaving, or navel-gazing.

I've tried to wear my watch tightly above the wrist bone and it's extremely uncomfortable for me and not nearly as convenient for reading the time.

I need full articulation at the wrist and so I wear proximal to the wrist bone. No right or wrong way to wear it but if it’s being worn distally, I can see it being a hindrance. Like if you wear your watch to the gym or for sports.

My wife is the same way and doesn’t wear her watches like a bangle.

Bellow or above the wrist bone is ok but what about those who wear a watch without even resizing it. I've seen people with their watches dangling around their wrists case down!

i used to wear it firmly in place but after years and years of wearing i felt like my wristbone has become deformed.

so now i wear it on the other hand, and now as im older wear it a little loose.

How is that comfortable? How do you still use your left hand at all? Like literally... for ANYTHING? It feels akin to wearing a necktie tied just under your chin!

I wear mine just slightly behind my wrist-bone... and secure. No sliding back and forth.

I have a theory... why people wear them high on the hand.

They are so proud of their watches they want them to be seen by others and they want to see it themselves as Often as possible.

I admit I’m guilty of both. But NOT to the point of total discomfort and immobility.

Am I off on this? Please help me understand.

I wear my watches this way....always have...always will.

My arms are muscular and watches of any kind do not fit well any other way. It just where they naturally fall.
