£30,000/$42,000 budget, how do you spend it?
For a watch that would be MY sequence of choices
1. Quality over Quantity 2. Classic/vintage 3. Double Red Sea-Dweller |

It really depends on where you're already at in your collection.
Just starting out, it makes sense to spread that purchase out, and get as much bang for the buck as you can. However, if you've already got a large collection, then a real difference maker is more likely to be one special watch, as opposed to a bunch more watches, which you already have. My two cents. |

I would go for a RG Daytona on Oysterflex (probably Ref. 116515LN) and a new Sub no-date (Ref. 124060).

Definitely only one watch.
I’d go for a DD40 or a Yacht-Master II in yellow gold |

Looking at market price and what’s available on chrono24 right now in the UK, not make believe (for most people) MSRP (in regards to rolex)
Filtering the UK and filtering up to £30k £29.9k first choice would be the Patek 5205 G 010 annual calendar. Absolute knock out. A very serious piece indeed to behold £27.5k second choice, a platinum 5196. Absolute class, a knock out £30k third choice, brand new 228238 YG DD40 champaign dial with Romans. The absolute classic, the king of heavy hitters £30k again, 4th choice but so close behind 3rd, the same ref again in WG with green dial. A superb piece 5th for £29.7k would be a Daytona 116509 WG in the beautiful blue dial. Understated yet seriously heavy hitting The wild card would be £30k on the nose; 1973 crispy condition full set B&P all the trimmings 1675 GMT with creamy indices |

These are very nice choices. I have two of those and a 5153r Patek so they are great pieces

I was thinking to myself after writing that, these 6 pieces as a collection would be quite immense. A dream collection Then I was thinking, or would you take 1 piece for £180k in lieu of the 6 above? £175k Patek 5370 split second chrono in platinum ? £175k Patek 5204 R split second Chrono perpetual calendar ? |

I'll keep it at retail for this scenario, and what I would personally buy:
1) No-date sub 2) Daytona Panda 3) DJ 41, jubilee, fluted, Blue sticks 4) JLC Reverso 5) G-shock |

AP 15500 white dial and 126710BLRO assuming UK retail prices I know of are correct, should fit within 30k pounds.
