Yes, since you'd have to flip the turtles over to milk them.

I agree Bas, whole milk is the best.
We have 'Gold Top' (full fat) as an occasional weekend treat, and have a farm shop near us that sells RAW MILK, unadulterated, straight from the udder, into the bottle. YUM!!

I didn't know you could drink it completely raw, thought that had some bacterial issues that might be dangerous?

There's a cow farm almost across the street here where we get most of our milk, they can't sell raw milk legally, it has to be pasteurized here.
I'm glad that most Dutch cows are free range, spending most of the year outside in grass fields, just makes it better quality meat and milk.

None of that soy based nonsense laced with antibiotics.

You cannot squeeze a whole cow. It will die or turn into sausage and then die.

It’s whole, 2% or skim cows milk for me from the local dairy. (I take whatever I can get when I have the hankering for milk).

Odd side note though- somewhere a couple years ago I saw an article about women selling their breast milk to body builders. I can’t find that article but here is one where women are selling “Covid antibody breast milk” for $2 an ounce. https://www.usnews.com/news/health-n...-covid-vaccine

Have tried goat milk many times over the years, never liked it. Smells and tastes too much like barnyard.

I switched to oat milk for a while but I'm back to low fat almond milk, I just prefer the taste. This after 30 years of using soy milk.

Last time I drank milk was kindergarten 1966. I realized in first grade it was disgusting. I do have a McDonald's strawberry shake every few years and eat ice cream now and then so I'm not lactose intolerant...just no desire to ever drink it.

Being lactose-intolerant but far far preferring milk in coffee, I open a fresh quart every 4-5 days. The local Trader Joe's usually has the freshest inventory, with a Sell-By date 2 or sometimes 2 1/2 weeks out from purchase date. Usually the 2%, sometimes the 1%, have the longest shelf date.

My thinking is that oxygen begins changing the milk as soon as it is processed, sealed or not. Changing the sugars. By the time the Sell-By date is reached, even a fresh quart smells a little 'off' to me.

Of course, for recipes like waffles, muffins, cole slaw, and especially pancakes, a little fermented milk in the mix ties it all together.
