If JJ was a mod, all of us at TRF would be gone and he would be by himself.

Some people act as if this is a Rolex temple. Others enjoy the threads, and cutting up a little. Some are always negative, and only try to make a problem out of nothing. I think some people are too thin skinned, and others a little too brash. I wish people could simply enjoy the site, and have a good time. JJ, Of course it is not true for you and rightly so.

I have read the history of this place I fully understand how you and the others came here,( I can list them all if you would like)

I would not expect you to be able to see from my perspective, you are amongst people that you have known for a lot longer than you have been at TRF.

Regards Mike.

Seems like people are jumping down one another's throats about their opinions, thoughts, comments. Seems like a while ago there was a lot of banter, friendly ribbing, occasional innuendo--but nothing patently offensive. But it was always in good fun among friends. If someone expressed love for a Leopard Daytona, or animosity towards the iconic SS Sub, he or she might get a little ribbing...but never directly insulted, and no one got offended.

Am I off?

Maybe some of the folks who've been around here a few years might understand what I'm thinking. Maybe I'm nuts. Well, I'm certain that I'm nuts. I just don't know if I'm wrong about the above.
I know what you are saying. I don't get upset anymore but I understand where you are coming from and not just in this forum. To me, this is the best forum I have ever belonged to. A lot of other people on other forums come off as arrogant and cocky. Everyone here has been very helpful as a matter of fact. One of my pet peeves on forums was acronyms, "clicks" and all that other stuff. We have ladies and gentleman on this forum though. Other place are just annoying.

Unfortunately one who is not a "feelings" type of person can often times be sarcastic and think there is nothing wrong with it. Going even further, they can hurt someones feelings and not even realize it and go even further and defend themself and say "They need to quit being a sissy"

It's not about that. People are different. Just because nothing offends you and you have thick skin, doesn't mean that everyone else does, or should see the world as you see it, or visa versa.

That is why the old addage "treat others how you want to be treated" is inaccurate. Everyone is different.

That is really just my rant on the subject. I have joined about 15 forums since I discovered forums, and TRF is the only one I am still a member of, it comes down to respect.

This post is typical of what I originally posted about.

Ask many of the Omega and Breitling owners here. Most of their watches are just as thick and bigger in diameter than the Deepsea.

You just stick to your little dress watches which probably look very good on your puny wrist and let us boys live an active life with our watches that we can do EVERYTHING with.
I just don't remember seeing posts like this when I used to visit the forum before. All in all, the forum is great. People are here to have fun, generally respect each other, and get along well. And everyone making fun of JJ is always entertaining.

I guess it's just that the forum has gotten soooo big. Kinda like when your favorite neighborhood tavern or grill gets a 4-Star rating, and you can no longer get a table and the hostess doesn't have time to chat with you when you walk in. Still the best place on the net to learn or inquire about Rolex watches. And, still one of the friendliest overall.

Sorry it seemed like I was complaining with the OP. Just a few posts recently have irritated me for their lack of respect for others' opinions.

There are more cliques here in my opinion, there is a really good example in this thread of something that you would not have seen a year ago.

I agree that size may be an influence. I have read a few threads of late that required rapid use of the back button.

I guess patience is in order. Attendance is up, which means more repetition of the same topics, over and over, and the same differences of opinion, that get louder and louder as the posters repeat them in every duplicated thread.
