I own two Rolex's plus a few digital timepieces -- I wouldn't ever wear a Rolex while playing golf, doing heavy labor, hammering, or anything else that could result in damaging it. That's what my Casio Wave Ceptor is for! It has numerous functions, is completely impervious to shock, and it literally cost me twenty-five dollars. I'm not about to fret over wearing a "plastic watch." That level of materialistic snobbery is hard to understand. |

Both, see my signature... the mrs. and I share a passion for Rolex and G's! lol
I have started wearing the G-Shock on the weekends for comfort and because it looks great with gym shorts and I don't care if it gets banged around. I also appreciate the Rolexes even more when I put them back on my wrist! -Pete

I have a G-Shock and I agree there is no comparison between that and a Rolex.
I dont think I have worn it in about 2 years

yes, no need to act snobbish ....true that casios are dime a dozen and disposable type of watch but it has its merits ..... lets see any Rolex or Patek take a 20story fall and keep on ticking.... each watch has its function in its domain ....

Until I bought my Explorer, I only owned "cheap" watches and frankly I liked my cheap watches. They led me to the watch groups where I learned a deeper appreciation for fine watches. I went through college and grad school with Casio Data Banks. I felt mine were indispensable during those days. Accuracy to .5 second per day, calculator with four key memory, scheduling, telephone numbers. several alarms, countdown timer, and a stopwatch. When I did my field practicum, it seemed that every medical resident and a few MDs had one, too. Now, the smartphone will do most of those functions, plus take pictures, play games, access email, and of course, make phone calls and looks way more cool. |

After punishing my 16610 for 14 years of grueling daily use, the case was gouged, the clasp had been replaced, strap was stretched to near failure. It cost a small fortune to sort it out. It was only at this point I truly apreciated the the value of my watch, even though I had bought it 6 months old BNIB.
After this I bought a Seiko auto as a beater, and it truly does get beaten, no desk diving for me. So now I keep my watches in as good a condition as I can. I looked at a few Casios, and they looked great, but settled on a Seiko because its an auto and old Seiko divers seem to hold some value. A Rolex can handle anything, hell I have used hammer drills on regular occasions in mine, but now I realise that no point ruining it for the sake of it. Wearing a Casio is a sensible choice, some one even told me that on this forum after I first joined.

They come in Titanium too, but those scratch easy. For real world use rough use resin is best If they are good enough for the SEAL's, they are good enough for me

Both
I own 4 Rolex and 2 Casio. A G-Shock and a Casio Edifice Atomic watch. One of the most accurate watches you can buy and automatically sync's to wherever I am in the world.

Both!
I own more Casio's than anything else. If memory serves me right, 6 total. 3 Mudmen, 1 Gulfman, 1 no-name () and a Pathfinder. I love all my watches and although my new GMT is seeing a LOT of wrist time lately, I still wear my others. The only watch I deploy with is a Mudman, however. |

Casio #1: they come with metal bracelets.
Casio #2 Takes a licking and keeps on ticking. Even after the power miter-box saw incident.

I think even though some of us are 'out of our twenties', one of the REALLY important
considerations in wearing a watch is the fact that women, when they see a Rolex on one's wrist, maintain at least whatever interest they may have started with, while if they spot a black plastic Cheesio, their brain instantly goes, 'Click; Next!'

Then for gosh sakes, wear the Casio. It will help you weed out and stay far away from those people.

I liked the box so much that I got two of them. It is made by Wolf Designs. This watch box is the Ten Piece Watch box with Storage. They also make it without storage and its much cheaper. I found a lot of use with the storage tray http://www.wolfdesigns.com/ They also sell it at world lux and on amazon but they sell out very fast. GL |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ts5y9...=youtube_gdata 25 years of diving greatness = G shock Frogman, far from a "cheesio" watch I just don't like the idea of someone making fun of someone who collects a certain watch brand. We are all watch collectors and we should have a level respect for someone who works hard, spends a lot of money and can explain why they are passionate about the brand. The stereotype of "Rolex Snob" is not something I want to be affiliated with because I love Rolex for all the right reason. |
