I like the Trump Hotel.
Great rooms, great service, no casino in the lobby. Here is an iPhone pic from the last time I was there. Later that night I lost a shoe though... not sure how that happened...

Stayed at the Tropicana last week. The room was nice, but nothing spectacular. The price and service were very good, though. But I was disappointed with the casino at this hotel. Smallish and not really up to Vegas standards, imo.

I prefer to stay at the Monte Carlo, nice hotel with some good dining and lounges and now they have a bar made completely out of ice for a different experience. I will be there in january to give this new ice bar a go.

Will be trying something new; going to the Arias in January. It is supposed to be a newer hotel (MGM chain) located on the strip. I got good rate, so even if it sucks it still won't be too bad.

Bellaggio if you want top notch. Wynn if you want the best. If the Ritz Carlton was still open, I'd suggest that
I've also stayed at the Caesars, MGM, Monte Carlo, Paris and Venetian -Those are okay. There are plenty of other gimmicky hotel casinos that attract visitors but none of them appeal to me. |

I have stayed at the high dollar resorts and the lower priced ones on the strip. If you are like me I sleep a couple of hours and shower then I am gone. My favorite is Imperial Palace the rooms are clean and just remodeled. It is in the center of the strip and have gave me killer deals to stay there.

We go about 8 times a year, and for the past few years we alternate between the Wynn and Venetian. Both are top shelf. The Wynn being the best of the two.
It is really about what you want to get out of your stay. -Eddie

Yes that is one of the major reasons my wife likes to stay at the Wynn or Encore as well. She LOVES the Fashion Show Mall. The only positive is that it gives me plenty of time to hang out in the Rolex Stores in the Wynn which is one of he best on the strip.

Best Western if you want to save up money! Aria if you want to experience elegance but spend a lot of money ( very high tech )!

Where I have stayed. latest.March 2010.......... (Vegas Vacation 12 )
The Wynn........... Overall, I was disappointed, check in was the most disorganised entry into any hotel that I have ever been to, complete chaos, clueless staff, the room was lovely with a great view down the strip but a 30 minute wait in line for a $ 6.50 incredibly average and small coffee was a sore point, walking over the strip in the morning for a Starbucks was a chore and would easily be enough for me to not stay there again. Also there was no "Buzz" about the place, you know what I mean if you know Las Vegas, it really could have been anywhere, maybe that was the "feel" that they were going for. The Pool area was very pretty though. [edit] I forgot the Buffet, I have had better school dinners, honestly, the floor was greasy and dirty, one old lady had a terrible fall and we looked after her until the staff eventually arrived and proceeded to interrogate her about why she fell, like it was her fault, I was unimpressed to say the least and told them so. I do agree with you on the coffee. We always headed over to the Starbucks across the street at the Fashion Mall. It would be nice if they had a decent coffee shop IN the hotel. But overall I loved my stay there. The casino floor can be a little quiet at times but I honestly don't mind that. |

We were in the regular hotel. The room was very high at the front looking straight down the strip and is one of the best that I have stayed in in Las Vegas, the thing is that isn't the most important facet of the stay, I mean great view but I'm not going to sit there for hours am I. I need my 5 shot venti cappuccino in the morning accompanied by a cigarette until those two things have been ingested I am best left alone.... We are there again in May and are staying in the Aria....I will locate the nearest Starbucks first (just in case) |

Belagio. Cough up a couple extra fazooles and do it right. Talk to Jean-Pierre or David at the concierge desk if you need anything. Tell them 'Crazy Canuck' say's hello.

The new hotel in the Venetian, the Palazzo Towers is phenomenal. Huge decked out suites. A bit of trivia, every room in the Venetian/Palazzo property is a suite, making it the largest all-suites hotel in the world.
I'd suggest booking something thru Hotwire.com. Don't go under 4 stars. Last time I booked a 4 star there it was $50 a night and the property turned out to be the Hard Rock Hotel/Casino (which is great for the young, hip crowd). |

I can't say which hotel is my favorite in Vegas, Since the last time I was there was in 88", however if they ever build an "Oriental Mandarin" I would perhaps one day visit Vegas again!!!

Better start planning your next trip since Oriental Mandarin just opened in Vegas! It is in the new City Center complex. I heard it is phenomenal.

Marriott, Residence Inns, and Court Yard hotels. The only non smoking hotels I know of in Vegas. Sure, we hit the casinos, but when we slept we wanted a clean fresh smelling room.

Yes the problem about staying at Wynn/Encore is that even if you score a decent price for their room everyhing else is obscenely expensive, like someone said 6.50$ or a small cup of joe....gimme a break !!
Anyway,I'll be at the Bellagio in about a week, hopefully I will stumble upon mr Steve Wynn in person again during my frequent walks at Wynncore !! |

The Palazzo was great. It had some real nice watch shops and it's right next door to the Wynn. The Wynn has some great watch shops. The Ceasar and Mirage are also near by.
I definitely enjoyed staying on that side of the strip. |

I'll give another shout out for the Bellagio. My wife and I had one of our best vacations ever staying there - but we stayed in a suite with balconies (the ones you can see from the street, I forget what they are called). It was magnificent, but we got to do that because they screwed up our reservations. We were treated like the royalty we pretend to be.

Venitian was the best. It took a few minutes to walk to the street, but worth the inconveniance. If you walk out, and take a left, there is a very long strip of smaller casino's, and shops. To the right is a long walk to the Wynn. It was a little tricky crossing the street. The inside was beautiful!
Paris was really cool, and located towards the middle of everything. Take a right, and pass the Bally's. There is a large pedestrian bridge to cross over. That was a big selling point. The casino has a rear entrance to Bally's, and can cut some time when walking. To the left, you can go to the other end of the strip, and see MGM, and the Luxor. I didn't like that end myself. The Venitian, and Paris hotels have a wonderful strip between them. We would walk that area every night! |
