To be perfectly honest, I had more trouble 'swallowing' this than the purchase price! The universal praise for the outstanding jobs performed by the RSCs went a long way toward my accepting this. I rationalized that for $100/year (on an annualized basis) I will have returned to me, in effect, a brand new Rolex every 5 years.

Life's short. If the wife & kids are taken care of, the bills are paid, and you put enough aside for the nest egg, I say enjoy your passions. Fine Swiss timepieces are my passion.

No. This isn't a dress rehearsal, it's the only life you're going to have. Make the most of it.

Buying a Rolex just to put it inside a safety box rather than wearing it, now that's what i call nuts.
And sadly, I'm one of those guys....

Even though my family's rich, I was brought up to learn that nothing is for free in this world (well besides TRF, btw! ), and therefore anything I have I have bought for my own hard-earned money. Sometimes I do think that it is a bit "crazy" to spend so much money on watches, but then again you only live once so why not treat yourself?

So, if owning more than "one" Rolex makes one that many times crazier than owning one?
If so, I'm a crazy MoFo but many here are crazier by owning more than five Rollies!!!!!

Speaking of doing the maths:
I just received an invoice from Steve: "Tosser Fee 2007-08-28 till 2007-12-31: 1,200 US $" ! And it says "Pay Easy With PayPal"

Well, as I have said before, I have spent less on my Rolex watches that other people I have known have thrown away gambling, on booze, cigarettes, drugs, etc... over the last several years.

A guy inherited $1,000,000.00. He spent $500,000 on women, gambled $480,000 away in Vegas and wasted the rest on a new Daytona.

That sounds like the guy was from the balkans. We do crazy stuff like this all the time. I know a guy that is 60 years old he is leaving in a bus and was saving money for 40 years to buy a BMW. How does that sound to you
