I was only joking.

All pledges are strictly voluntary. We're rich enough already and classy with it.

When I was 16, I bought a 1966 Ford Mustang 200ci straight 6 that I found for sale in the Food 4 Less parking lot with a "For Sale" sign on it. It apparently belonged to one of the cashiers that worked there. Bought it for $1200 with a little help from my parents. It didn't have A/C, but I didn't care.

Dunno dude, I fall into the "you must earn it crowd" and I would not be comfortable driving any of these cars at the age of 16.

I'm assuming you mean the range rover sport? Where I live I see mostly success full guys at the country club driving them. I see moms mostly in ML Mercedes

I'm in Detroit. So I know the kind of winters we get. Especially for your first ride I would get the range rover. 4wd and not a pure race machine.

17? Hmm, Well folks are free to do as they wish and you're very fortunate that you're wealthy enough to consider these vehicles.....but! You are 17, what could you possibly be doing with an M3/4.
What you need is a Honda Accord or better yet, a Toyota Tacoma. Don't know how many times I've seen the kids around my area renting trucks to move all their crap to and fro.

In the end, who am I to to talk right. I mean there are Kartrashian kids running around in the same....go all out then, get a Lambo.

Final note, your original offerings are so varied that it seems you're just poking at pictures or stats from a mag. Go to the dealerships, sit in and test them out. Pick the one you like to be in. Theeen you can take your selection of said vehicles and ask for opinions/experience and input yours as well.
The one that as you walk away, you turn around five or six times to look at, that's the one you take home.

If you're in the snow belt, the obvious choice is the Ferrari FF.
651 HP, AWD, 4 seats.
It's what I would pick if I were you.
It makes your other choices look like a bunch of Volkswagens

I´m 17 and have a 2005 3 series. That is MORE than enough for me, and I am very grateful for it. If I had parents willing to splurge this much money on me, I´d ask for the car I have now, and the difference in cash in the bank. My

The story lasted almost 5 weeks . . .

Was one of the saddest days . . .

And to be honest I still need to see the first US citizen who can drive a car . . .

Even if you drive defensive . . . the rest think they are racers . . . going left and right all the time . . . blinkers not necessary . . . and than they save at least 5 minutes . . . if they are lucky . . . a day . . .

Probably there's only one here on TRF who can drive a car seriously. . . . Dr Veins ;)

Maybe old fashioned of me but that's the way it will go at my place

Marc,You have it together my friend.
To the OP,
I, like many here on TRF have had many cars including most on your list.
My daughter just got her license.
There is a disproportionate number of accidents with young drivers.
My daughter will drive something safe and practical till SHE can afford otherwise.
She did drive my 911 Turbo around the neighborhood.

It is very scary being the parent of a young driver.

Sorry, but IMHO a 500+hp AMG, ///M, or other such car for a 16 year old is just plain irresponsible.

17. I wouldn't have wanted any of them. Get a Cherokee, or a pathfinder, or 4runner.
