I'd go with the SubC ND.

Once you have a nice Rolex sunburst, esp the blue, it can be hard to go back to just plain black so bear that in mind. Maybe a blue DJ41, if released, may be your best bet but try the Sub first.

Have you considered an Explorer?

I'd go DJ2. I know its the classic look, but those black on black subs seem very plain and ordinary to me.

I would either go for a 36 mm Datejust or wait until the Datejust 41 comes out in white gold / stainless steel. The Datejust 41 supposedly measures 39.5 mm

Get the Sub. It's way more versatile than the DJ and is a lot more timeless than the DJ you referenced, so it will be in style forever. If it were me though I would spend the extra $ and go sub date...just having the date on your wrist is so convenient, plus the iconic Rolex cyclops - all around better value because you will have all the complications available on the sub so no buyers regret.

As I finally went to try them on...the sub ND called my attention more. This was my first Rolex watch purchase BTW. I already own some Tags with dates on them. So guess what? Today I closed the deal and already wired money for a mint condition sub ND from a trusted seller here. I shall be getting it tomorrow. Sounds to me like you want a sub ND. Do it. You can always add the DJ2 later. I plan to buy a DJ2 next year or so. Anyways lets us know what you decide. BTW what also helped me decide was this forum. Reading others who have bought the sub ND and many pictures. Plus so many bloggers articles on the sub ND when you search google. Iconic. Everyday watch. Wear with anything. Tool watch. Done deal.
Thanks for sharing your story! I will def post some pictures once I have made my final decision and also depend on the availability of AD.

Exactly! I love the blue on my OP, it has so many shades depending where the light hits. The Hulk does have a green sunburst dial but it is out of my reach unfortunately.

Ex1 or 2? I've thought about the Ex1 when I first purchased my OP, but now I'm looking for something else, it is too much like my OP. As for the Ex2, I'm just not into its all-metal bezel, if it were ceramic then I would seriously consider it.

I've tried on the 36 DJ, it's just too small for me, even though I have a small wrist.

Hmmm...now I have another watch to think about. I've always thought I like the symmetrical look of the ND, but it is nice also to have a date function, since my OP doesn't have date as well.
