I also originally considered blnr last year prior to the release of the DJ41 stainless.
I bought the DJ41 this year and I am very happy I passed up the blnr. I advise you go with the Datejust to add diversity to your collection. You can't go wrong with a classic Rolex.

The BLNR makes a great pair with the YM, IMO.

DJ41 in your case as it will make your collection cover more bases. The BLNR seems a bit redundant.

BLNR will be your best choice for daily wearing, IMHO.

My Second Rolex: BLNR or DJ41?

From your explanation and nice reasoning for each model, I thin it is not a matter of whether you will end up buying one or the other, rather you will end up getting both!

Your question should be which one to buy first! And they are both beautiful and a good addition so I can’t help you with that. :)

Great feedback so far guys, thanks! Opinions seem split so far between the two. I agree that the DJ41 with fluted bezel and jubilee band won’t fly under the radar as I originally thought. I’m not going to sell the YM - already planned to pass it onto one of my sons one day.

Love the DJ pics! That’s a truly special piece! Tough decision!

I say the DJ41. Switch it up a bit. Plus you'll have that newer movement!

You need both. The BLNR is a sport watch and a great travel watch. The DJ, I have a DJ41 in rose gold and steel with the chocolate dial, is the perfect dress and office watch IMHO.

Further proof that you will be buying both in future!!! You will at least need two more rolexes in your stable.

I saw a pic of that watch - I think the chocolate dial looks awesome with the rose gold. Definitely a consideration if I go with a DJ41. The TT is even more dressy.

Both watches are good choices- I owned the same YM as you have for 4 years and recently sold it because I wanted to get the BLNR and Daytona Ceramic C and didn’t want to have 3 Rolexes in my small collection. The YM Blue is a beautiful watch and I can say personally that it got noticed a few times while wearing it, so far after 4 months my BLNR has not been noticed.
I don’t agree with your comment that the BLND look too similar to the YM with the exception of the bezel. To my eyes they look completely different, the YM has the narrower lugs and I think the case looks more refined.
Anyway, my vote is for the BLNR, it’s a great all-around watch and would pair well with your YM. You might find yourself wearing the BLNR most of the time as I have.
Best of luck in your choice.

Mark

It is such a nice watch! Wears beautifully and is so classic! I get complements all of the time when I wear it.

Great comments Mark! Much appreciated. Interesting to hear that the BLNR has not been noticed as much as your YM. I agree that the watches look different and may wear differently.

BLNR and if you decide you want the datejust you can sell it easily at almost no loss and get the datejust.

I have both and love them.
DJ41 gives you many choices of colours/metals and is dressy but refined as it is thinner.
My DJ is blue dial and of course it's a similar blue to the YM you have [which was on my radar at the time .]
I'd go DJ41 because it's more different from the YM with no dive-watch characteristics.
No wrong choices here though.
Look at the rhodium dial if going steel case , champagne dial if TT.

I have the same blue YM blue dial and a GMT LN. My choice would be to get the DJ, as others have said more versatility and completely different look.
