No right answer but this is the way I am currently rolling. Of course I did it backwards. After selling my Sub last year I rolled with nada. Picked up a Pelagos late last year, while it was RSC getting the bezel fixed picked up at DJ 41. Such a fickle hobby. I can see the desire for just 1 and I’ve done that before and it’s worked great. Then too much viewing of TRF influences me and “oops I did it again...!”

I agree with your 2 is 1 and 1 is 0 concept, only I apply it to my edc and personal protection mind set :)

I'm in the same boat. Just my 16713 on my wrist daily. I may go back to the 42mm EXPII Polar, but even if I do, it'll be my only Rolex.

I can definitely see myself eventually settling in as a one watch guy. Yellow gold black bezel sub for sure.

I've thought about doing this, a lot. I've spent years buying and selling watches from many different brands and I've settled on the following: 114060, 114270, 16570 polar. A three watch collection just works for me. And honestly, I'd be happy with any of them as my only watch...that's probably why I've kept all of them.

With that being said, if I had to pick one modern watch as my everyday watch, I'd probably grab a 214270 and call it a day. The Explorer is more "me" than any other watch I've found. And as good as the 114270 is, if I were going to have one watch, I'd want it to be brand new. I also love the "matte-ish" dial of the 214270.

(Yes, was really tempted by a Pepsi but ultimately just loved the two tone) Went the grey route with DavidSW. Something about wearing the same watch day after day just works for me. Will be curious if come service time I say ”just one more” but am currently enjoying the simple repetition of putting this one on each morning from my bedside table.

I’m can’t agree more. owning / wearing one watch is a very special experience.

Congrats. I saw one in the flesh and it was spectacular. I love the rose gold two tone. Great choice!! As for the one watch route I wish you best of luck. I believe in at least two. You can alternate and wear one while one is being serviced. Three is even better to have a rotation with different types. At some point above three it starts to get excessive, but its all personal choice. I am excessive and only my wallet keeps me from going watch crazy.
