I had a Mk1 for about 6 months as a daily wearer-bezel stayed clean-no scratches

Don’t just think on scratches, buy if you really feel the watch.
Once you see the wrong proportions you might regret, like me, buying it. Take your time please. Trust me. Cheers |

The polished bezel will get scuffed no doubt, but it shouldn’t bother you. I love this watch and it gets more wrist time than many of my rolex and PP. I think the proportions of the 39mm are spot-on

You view it with the wrong angle. An Explorer MUST be scratched.
One needs to see you circumnavigated the globe and climbed the Himalayas just by having a glance at your watch and its scars. |

I wouldn’t worry as the watch was made to be worn as an everyday piece.

I would for sure add the explorer to the rotation. I had one last year that I purchased from a friend, had to let it go for some cash flow purposes but have purchased one just last month from my AD who knew it was on my list to get back.
Watch not collected yet due to lockdown but excited non the less. |

IMO the Explorer is one of those references that looks great when it gets a bit scratched up
