It’s a great watch. Having a dive watch already I haven’t felt the need to add another but if I did this would certainly be high on the list. After Tudor came out with the black bay gmt I was hoping they would follow it up with a GMT Pelagos. That would instantly get my attention and money.

In any case the Pelagos is a great looking watch that doesn’t have to compare itself to anything else.
look exactly alike- maybe not- but it's taken the "rotating bezel" theme of the Rolex dive watch, and evolved every element to be better for it's intended use, ie, Submarining.
Better legibility of bezel, dial and hands, AR'd sapphire, better corrosion resistance, a cleverer clasp.
And it came from "The House of Rolex", so those were additions someone there had been mulling, but were incompatible with Rolex's glittering self

I like it. That might just be my next watch. Just concerned about the size and thickness. And is it comfortable to wear? Need to try it on I think. A proper modern tool watch.

I don't find the watch too thick or heavy. All dwindles down to personal preference. I love my blue Pelagos as it is very comfortable around my wrist! I highly recommend you try it in before deciding though!

Obviously, the way I obtained the watch means that i will never part with it, but I would never want to either.
Huge congrats on the watch! As noted by everyone else here, your wife is a keeper, lol. I'm a big Pelagos fan as well. As you observed, it's a fun, sporty watch with a fantastic look. I love the titanium, it creates a unique visual and it's a nice change-of-pace from SS. I like the watch so much that I went with all three (blue, black, and LHD). Imho, you really can't go wrong with any of them. Continue enjoying your Pelagos!

Hahaha wow! Go big or go home! I'll be lucky if the wifey lets me pick up one more Pelagos.... Which one do you find yourself wearing the most out of the 3?

There are actually four, ETA black and in-house black . You have one more to buy .

Tudor looked at the Rolex Submariner and decided to create their own vastly improved (or updated, if you will) version. Hence the birth of the Pelagos.

Love my Pelagos LHD.

Lol. I do like ETA movements, *very much*, and I struggled with this for a while, but in the end I went with the in-house movement for my black-dial Pelagos. Honestly, they're both handsome watches in their own ways!

A friend of mine took a shining to a Pelagos when I was picking up a watch at an AD. She told him the spring in the clasp was to let you know if you went too deep when diving.

I still laugh about it. She'd probably been told about wetsuit compression at depth by the Tudor rep, but never understood it.

It's a great watch, and the spring would be useful. Having your watch (or dive computer) slip off your wetsuit is very annoying when going deep. Some guys use bungees for that reason.

Great watch, and great photos!

I love the Pelagos, I want to pick up an original ETA version. I just need to find a way to justify having it and a Submariner in the watch box.

That’s what differentiates the Pelagos from the Rolex divers . I love the look and feel of the titanium case . It’s an entirely different genre of watch , and it’s cool .

I think they were referring to the greater depth rating, bracelet, and overt “tooliness” of the piece. The sub, though capable, is now mostly jewelry to many.

When a watch perfectly suits your lifestyle, it doesn't get any better than that.

Well, actually it does. When your wife gives you that watch, then you've got something most of us will only dream about.

Hi, this is my first post. I specifcally joined this forum to investigate the Pelagos as my first "proper" (hope that's the right term) watch. Great photos.

Welcome to the forum. The Pelagos is a fine candidate; handsome, rugged, both idiosyncratic and with provenance. I prefer the two-line ETA driven model as it is thinner, calmer and more representative of Tudor DNA. Many prefer the four-line in-house version because some feel the term in-house adds value. Can’t go wrong, it’s an awesome watch.

The Pelagos is an awesome watch. I've had each of the four variations.

Two liner.
Left hand drive.
Five liner.
Blue.

This is the only other dive watch I want to add to my collection. It’s so perfectly utilitarian/industrial looking. It’s literally a machine and I love it.
