outside of the green dial and RG Olive dial, you can get them under MSRP now through the grey market

Well done for calling out the whiff of unsubstantiated BS

How difficult is it to get a day date 40 these days?

I bought in 2019 from AD and got around 15% off and no tax (shipped out of state). Was looking it and got contact info of an AD/SA via PM from a member on TRF which was much appreciated.

Put down a deposit and watch was ordered for me since they didn't have my Desired config in stock.

I think sometime in 2020 ADs stopped being able to order these (DD40) and just got whatever they got in shipments

Good move. That's a combo I've never found to my taste.

I was offered a platinum dd 40 this week from my AD but unfortunately I couldn't swing it financially. May regret it in the future but need to prioritise other expenses at the moment

It all depends on availability and demand, it's always best to check with an authorized dealer or reputable watch retailers to see if they have them in stock.

I asked for a rose gold olive and it took a few months. Way too fast for me. I collect it soon.

If it’s the fluted bezel Ice Blue dial I’m a buyer. Could you PM me please

Probably not that difficult. I personally wouldn’t go the AD route on a DD though.

It really depends on the configuration you want.. The market for people buying a $40k watch in this economy is much smaller but I'm currently on month 3 searching for a DD40 with silver dial and deconstructed romans...

Which material are you looking for in the watch?

I was trying to get a rose gold & chocolate romans one from an AD back in July. They put me on a list and told me it would probably be "a couple" to "a few" months but stressed that it shouldn't be an extended wait. I ended up deciding I wanted a DDII instead so I called to let them know.

Wait list everywhere. Better to buy from grey market under retail or at msrp

So in the UK at least many PM models seem to be easy enough to get (if not afford!)
Will you tell me which AD this was please?

Thanks.

I was offered a rose gold Day Date on Sunday when I went into an AD I've been to a few times. Tried it on and all, but ultimately it looks too feminine for me, is all gold, and too much for me to spend on something I didn't like.

Stick with stainless steel. All gold is definitely not for you no matter the color.

I got my DD in YG about 2 months back in NYC metro area. I had choice of white dial, Champagne, Black with diamonds at my AD. Other AD in north had rose gold with chocolate dial. One point to note, I have relationship with both ADs and I finally chose YG with White dial. They were holding these for at least 2-3 weeks, so not sure if they did not have demand or people in waitlist were taking time to decide.

I waited for about a year before buying one during the one year period they did give me few options with 36 MM which I declined.
