The R was never really going anywhere and also the G was at or below... it’s just going back to where it suppose to.

Same with the 5980 1AR

There is a entire cluster of nautilus that got the spill over effect. At the end of the day. It has and always will be about the 5711a and 5712a

I’ve not heard many people moving those. But if I was to give you a real price take the lowest price on chrono 24 and take 15-20% off that. And that’s your real transaction value.

Probably puts you somewhere around cost

Boohoo. It was great seeing our watches reach stratospheric heights. One friend of mine offloaded all his at their peak. He can probably acquire them all back and have extra cash in his pocket. Offloaded at the right time...He has a way with luck that guy.

It’s like the submariner. You can add all the complications and metals you want but the basic steel date submariner is the classic.

The best naut will always be in demand I’d say. If the 5712a with micro rotor was to be discontinued I’d reckon the price would hit close to 3712a levels. Not sure if any naut would equal that except 5990 if stopped making that.

The 5712R is awesome but I couldn’t pay much over retail for it.. Strap only isn’t quite the same.

I stand corrected from a WIS perspective. However to me I think the Sub date is my preference (1680 or 116610LV). If I wanted more symmetry I would go Sea Dweller before the normal Submariner.

yes, typical PP style. first hype the watches by making them scarce and suddenly, booommmm..produce produce produce and sell sell sell. 5524G and 5235G are archetypical examples of that pattern.

WF still have blue 5711 at £70K and 12 at £80K, and 5711R at £95K, not really changed here.

There is a strong element of wishful thinking in all these kind of threads.

They'll sell.

All these things take a while to move. If they were in the $20k range like an SS Daytona, they'd move a lot faster.

Also remember there's 10x more demand and interest in Rolex vs. Patek.

And also remember that list price != sale price. :) I'd wager these will all sell at 10-15% below list price, as is often the case. They might stick longer as grey market dealers sometimes like to maintain a floor longer to test the market.

Also, there's a slowdown right now for various geopolitical reasons. GM dealers who can afford to hold onto inventory will obviously hold longer until things ease up.
