Refreshing to see people in this thread taking quality pictures with their Leica’s and not just pictures of their Leica’s

The M6 is a fantastic camera:

It's challenge to use rangefinders, especially for action, but it's fun and rewarding. Using a Leica M camera is an "experience."

And as Blasnky mentioned, the end result of Leica print touches on the medium format, and I assume the same for Hasselblad and LF. I recently bought two Hasselblad 500s and three lenses but have not processed any film from them yet.

Here is a print (hanging) I made from the Leica M6 and scanned Kodachrome. The print is 44" wide and unusually sharp for 35mm. Plenty of detail from Leica glass.

I look forward to what the Hasselblad can do and welcome the challenge of square format.
Wonderful photos. Absolutely wonderful.

I can take a photo but I dont have the skill, or the eye to introduce the camera to a good photo, the photos that you and Laszio have posted, just show that skill perfectly. Love looking at good photos.

Snapping pics is surely not a prerequisite for ownership. That would be like having to qualify to be a Stainless Flipper Owner in my humble opinion. You can drop as much as one likes on things without having to "Qualify" surely.... I myself love buying Leica Cameras and not worth a crap taking pictures..:)

There's also a rather deep satisfaction about taking a fast panning shot with a Leica... It's not easy to do in my experience. :)

But as I said, I shouldn't judge. I bought a Nikon 200mm F2 VR2 today... But I do use it.

Was about to pull the trigger on a Nocti and M10 myself this week. Used though. I absolutely love Rangefinders. They are my favourite type of camera, but these days I'm heavily invested in my Nikon set so I keep adding lenses to it.

Post some pics from the Nocti. If you know how to use it it is a magical lens.

Have to confess I also do own the 75MM Noctilux Leica :)

Thanks. :)

Yes, it's a case of pre-focussing on a patch of tarmac that you 'expect' your target vehicle to pass over.... and then pan, remembering the bit of tarmac you focussed on - and then 'click'. Hahahaha Easy!

I have loads of similar photos - and even more that didn't work at all.

It's an M8 with a 50mm lens. Always my preferred combination - plus, bigger lenses are sooooo expensive! :)

Thanks Dave. Photography is my passion. I have been uninspired lately though. I need to get back into it.

Yes, major challenge for any action. On a side note, I'm a Lotus fan. I even did the Classic Team Lotus experience last year in Hethel. I met Clive Chapman too.

Here is my Lotus contribution (not moving) with a Leica X2.

I see the Leica M6 is nicely marked into the body in bold white lettering and on my M10 its just plain ole black with just the Leica Red Logo....

I've never used one, but I think it would help. It essentially gives you an LCD view at eye level. I'm not sure, but it should help with focus too (if it has peaking). It should help with composition giving you what I would presume the view of the lens.

Well I am charging the battery, mounted the 50 noctilux on the M10 and will see what kind of disaster develops....:)

HAH... I never said "USE" but its a step in the right direction with it out of the box with the lens on it, neck strap attached and battery in the charger.. Need to rob a SD Card out of something for it too.. So you focus this by specifics on the lens like distance and aperture plus you have to line up those 2 vertical lines somehow and this creates in focus..?

I agree Dave

No knowledge of camera equipment etc., but have to think that like with most things, for the average Joe, it’s mostly about the carpenter not the tools.

yes, that's how the rangefinder works...you line up the patches with what you are focusing on. Also depending on the lens, you use one of the rectangular outlines for composition. They are different for each focal length, but the visoflex should show you exactly what the lens sees, but it's not a rangefinder at that point. With the optical rangefinder you will see more than what the lens sees, unless it's a 28mm, that should be the whole frame.

There are advantages of using the rangefinder but you may not even need it with the visoflex.

So by trying to shoot a picture with the 50 @0.95 the DOF is very very shallow and difficult to get in focus..? I have my Headphone Amp with 2 large 300B Tubes setting here in my office and I would like to get a picture of possibly a small part of one of the tubes in focus.. I want to use the 0.95 just give it a whirl first..

I am ok with all my DSLR's but this rangefinder looks to be a entire different animal...
