I have that same meteorite Daytona, WG on OF. Love this piece and hands down it’s not even a comparison with a SS Daytona.
With that said, I couldn’t daily the meteorite Daytona. It’s pretty under the radar for non watch folks given it’s on rubber and it’s WG. I wear it all the time (at least twice a week since I got it), but I can’t daily a $40k Msrp / $100k secondary watch. I don’t baby my watches, but when I’m turning wrenches, going to the pool, or even washing the dishes, I don’t want to wear it where I can hit things. Usually will be wearing the explorer for that. |

I prefer the contrast between the bezel and dial on the ghost.

I would get the ghost and spend some money on a custom padded black crocodile/alligator strap. I think that would look killer. BTW - are black leather/alligator straps out of style?

Have the new black Daytona on oysterflex also. Can’t go wrong either way.
I prefer PM, bracelet, and ceramic bezel so the obvious answer is the platona which I’m hoping can happen in next couple of years. |

I have a 126519 ghosts on OF and it is amazing.
That said it would be killer to be able to swap to a WG bracelet for a dressier occasion. Does anyone know if this has ever been done? I assume a WG Rolex bracelet would cost 15-20k if you could even source one? |

That's a beauty for sure. Reverse Iron Panda. Wish they had it in steel full bracelet too.

I have both: OF Ghost gets way more wrist time. But if had to pick only one Daytona I guess SS would win.

For a watch so imbued in popular culture and people's minds, I doubt anyone thinks of oyster flex when they picture a daytona in their head.
Also, precious metal daytona is a new thing, not a classic, unlike DD for which precious metal is a tradition. Adding to this, I also recently had the sticker shop of learning the price of Rolex after market parts through AD. Assuming that oyster flex is not going to last you as long as the braclet, come time to replace, it might be another small chunk of cash. For example, one link for my platinum DD costs $1700 USD + tax. A full platinum DD bracelet costs $35000 USD plus tax. |

I would normally always take a bracelet over OF (not even a fan of OF) and would also normally always prefer a black dial….but in this case, I’d say that WG Daytona on OF is just too gorgeous not to take over the black dial.
Edit: just realized this is a year old thread that was resurrected… |

I can only have one - SS black Daytona or WG Daytona OF
Old thread, but Meteorite WG on OF - not even a question for me.
